Where's my Summer TV?
-
Remember when summer meant reruns and nonsense. Northern Exposure doesn't count, it was good nonsense and I usually binge a couple episodes of it every summer anyway but that falls back into reruns.
Halt & Catch Fire, The Strain, You're The Worst, Playing House, Humans, Glitch, dammit I'd even try more Sense8 right about now. I've gotten accustom to quality summer series and they are all starting practically in September, some not until December. I should check on Playing House, they got to give me at least that.
So I've finally started The Last Kingdom and also watching The Living & The Dead (Colin Morgan has finally reached manhood, yummy). Fortunately Mr. Robot starts up again soon but seriously, they all knew summer was coming, is it some sort of conspiracy?
I've also got 2 episodes of that drug queenpin tele novella Hollywood re-imagining but the reviews seem iffy. Am I missing something? Dammit, am I supposed to stop watching television and do what exactly?
What are you watching for those moments when porn just won't do?

I am struggling here in the UK for TV. But then it is normally repeats in the summer anyway. We have a surfeit of sport just now with Wimbledon and Euro 2016.
I spotted that a new series Shades of Blue was heading our way until I realised I gave up on series 1 for being silly. I've tried a couple of US series which didn't cut it for me. The American West has been quite good.
I tried new UK murder series Agatha Raisin but felt empty at the end.
I have had to download some youtube stuff on really lean nights.
I suppose we could take up reading

Ha! I swore the last book I read was the last book I'll read. Although Magicians of The Gods has me reconsidering the stance. I should look to see if it's price has come down any.
As for Shades of Blue or Agatha Raisin I've heard very little about them except that one is silly and the other leaves you empty. LOL. "Murder series" or the even worse "police procedural" and I am tuned out, do not pass go and that's that. Silly, well, I'll have to investigate, people say Gilligan's Island is silly but it's TV gold to me.
As an update on silly, I checked out when Playing House would be starting again and according to tweets from June they were "writing" season 3. This after a whole campaign to get renewed, which, oh ya right, it was renewed in January. What happened to Feb, Mar, Apr & May jammers? See if they get a fourth!
HBO has a new series called The Night Of that I got a DMCA notice for. The buzz sounds good but I would like another episode or 2 on tap before I start.
Sensitive Skin is the current regular rotation, I've enjoyed Kim Cattrall over the years despite Sex & The City and it's fun to spot the local spot even if it is mostly the west end. Although the second season apparently moves to the island. I am ashamed that I haven't watched it until now. I make a point of shopping local but apparently when it comes to TV, well, to be fair Canadian TV…it's been all downhill since The Starlost went off the air.

Oh. I am sorry but my doctor has warned me against watching Jennifer Lopez any thing.

My big problem with police procedurals (I watched an Aussie one as well) is by the time you get to decide they are crap you need to stay with them to find out what happens
-
I try to not recommend as what I like someone else might not. I enjoyed the 6 Part Secret City out of Australia that just finished this week.
Another started this week called The Kettering Incident. I have watched the first two episodes and so far so/so

Ha! There's another one, when is Glitch coming back, that there was some whacked out television!
Secret City might get a spin.
I have the first episode of Tomorrow When The War Began but haven't slipped it on yet.
