Westboro Baptist Church To Protest At Orlando Shooting Victims’ Funerals This Weekend.

They are just a horrible/evil group of people. I do have a feeling sane people will come out in record numbers to block these people from spewing their hate.

You know, I used to be really truly bothered by the WBC. To the point where it infuriated me. That is, until I realized that all people can be classified into 1 of 3 categories. Now mind you, this may be why people don't genereally like me.

            1. You are helping me towards a goal (job related, forming a relationship or friendship, entertainment, etc.)
            2. You are preventing me from achieving my goal (I'm talking directly impact you, like family hating your boyfriend, etc.)
            3. If neither of the above apply, then you/your group is irrelevant and therefore have no actual impact on my life or self.

WBC,  for me nowadays, falls into 3, because not only are they not really accomplishing anything besides making themselves look like fools, they are just bothersome little shit flies that are asking for a smashing.

Here I disagree. I think WBC has been helping me towards a political goal of more GLBT acceptance for well over a decade. I don't know what country you're in, but the WBC have protested at the funerals of young soldiers killed in the USA's wars because the USA "supports sodomy" (or something), and this has made them deeply unpopular in the USA (whatever you think of the politicians who devise and carry out those wars).

                Hi guys,
Well my thoughts on the issue is that The Westboro Baptist Church are now an irrelevance. They fell off the radar since Louis Theroux's most recent documentary of them in 2011 called, "America's Most Hated Family in Crisis" where it shows the younger members leaving in their droves and no longer being able to support their message of bigotry. It is all on UK Netflix if you have access to it. Also, the founder Fred Phelps died last year (or the year before, I can't remember) and since then they have got nearly no media coverage at all. Their warped beliefs dictate not to 'mourn' the dead. Doing so, would be like 'sinning' in their strange logic. So don't think they are mourning for their founder…they are just now irrelevant. And giving them any press coverage at all does a disservice to the poor victims of Orlando. They just want $$$ for publicity again, don't let them.

The Most Hated Family in America in Crisis

It is in both places actually. Not mutually exclusive.
