Not surprising at all. Everyone regardless of race, religion, or sexual orientation want to implement similar goals. All Americans want jobs back; we want wealth and we want security and we want a strong nation. Furthermore, Trump tells it as it is. He doesn't pander to all these minority groups like Hillary does because his message of unity is stronger. We are all Americans first.

              bobob is so right.
well I was in the street demonstrating against gay marriage like many gays. Why because opening marriage to gays means in a near future surrogacy.
there is no " gay community " that's BS. sucking dicks is just a parameters like having blue or brown eyes that's all.
Let's say I'm on a sinking boat I can save 1 guy I have to chose between a gay guy who is a far leftist, and a guy that calls me 'fag' still is a patriotic guy on whom you can rely. I choose the greater good, the gay can go F* himself.
So of course there are gay people with all political views. It's not coz you'r gay that you are a leftist. Maybe that was true for old generation, (Im only talking about 1st world countries here of course, others countries are not there yet), but now gays aren't discriminated against. Like the cute guy Tom Odell on the Graham Norton show yesterday said our generation doesnt care if you'r bi, str8, gay..
I'm not from the US still I'm against Hilary as she wants to maintain the filthy nosy Us imperialism. Trump doesnt care about others countries and wants to take care of problems inside the US . Only for that he would have my vote. But It's also true americans being religious nuts, you might be discriminated against for sucking dicks in some states.. still international politic is way more important.

Pandering to minority groups, as you say, sometimes means implementing similar goals, to those belonging to the minority groups. America is not just white bread middle class, and if you think your situation right now is not ideal, most of those minorities have been living in this situation for all their life. Providing equality for all is not stupid, and dividing the people between worthy of getting jobs and wealth and not, doesn't send a strong message of unity. At all.

We are all Americans first, you say. But this reads like "some are more American than others".
