Pet shop boys, documentary
-
A documentary series charting the work of Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe in their own words. Haven't had a chance to listen to all 4 parts but what I have heard is interesting. pet shop boys, chart part 1
Only available for 20 more days unless there's a crafty way to save it besides holding my tape recorder up to the speakers (oh yes I remember recording Opportunities off of the radio in that very manner).

To record from the BBC (or anywhere else that broadcast via the Web) I use Audio Record Wizard.
It will record everything (and I mean everything so mute your Skype while recording) that passes through your sound card and produce an mp3 file. I should think I use it every day to time-shift BBC radio programmes

Tennant talked about future reissues of all the Parlophone albums, probably starting this fall.

Thank you. Unfortunately something something Ubuntu. I presume there is a similar nifty little gadget if I investigated to do the same. Truth is I kind of like having the deadline. Makes it all more ephermal and special (I guess) because if I did record it no doubt it would end up being another one of those files I look at and say "I'll get to that" before deleting because of space constraints.
I did listen to most of the first episode but when they passed the "Introspective" stage of the career and I didn't hear the words "Don Juan" I got petulant.

I also heard that bit about insisting they be on the Parlophone label when they signed their contract and then something else about at the end of their time with Parlophone. I am not really good with labels of any kind so wasn't sure what the fuss was about. I did think to myself "Parlophone can't be all that, I only have one other record that's Parlophone and it's Faul McCartney"…
