Masturbation while in a LTR
-
Hello everyone,
My bf doesn't think masturbation is normal while 'you have someone around you to fuck'. My masturbation is never about HIM, but about fantasies and other visual stimulus.
Has anyone else had this issue? Did you stop masturbating? If not, did you just not tell or were you able to discuss it constructively with your partner?
Thanks!

Yeah I did it. I've dated two people in my life, a guy and a girl. When they didn't put out. I was like "I need 5-45 minutes alone in the bathroom with my laptop. I'll see you on the other side." In the long run it was better for both of us. They didn't have to deal with horny me and I got to have some pleasure. P.S. I still did it even if I knew they were going to put out and they knew. Sometimes I want someone that knows how to pleasure me. And that's me. It's my body. I never told them to stop masturbating. I encouraged it.

Masturbation is normal whether you are in or out of a relationship. It is a healthy way to relieve stress and to give ourselves pleasure in a way that no one else really can. I would say the only "problem" would be that if you are masturbating so often that you are not able to have sex with your partner. THAT would be something to look at. But as it's described here it sounds like your partner needs to be educated a bit.

The plain truth is, not every relationship involves sex heavily, or even at all between those involved.
Masturbation is healthy and should be encouraged. A partner in a relationship is not just 'someone around to fuck'. People have moods, feelings, thoughts, and preferences. Timing is not always going to match up when you're in the mood or they are. It's usually best to masturbate regularly anyway. Too much tension in that area can have bad effects on some people's decision-making. Always best if the pipes are clean!

:fap: Agreed, moonmonday; there is no real problem with self-masturbation at all as long as it doesn't get in the way of your performance with your partner.

I've been in several relationships gay I'm straight. Masturbated anywhere from 7 to 10 times a day since I was in my teens and thats been over 30 years. The amount of sex in a relationship is never impacted my masturbation masturbation is never impacted my sexuality of my sexual activity with my partners. It's personal and up to the individual and shouldn't impact feelings the partner

I think masturbation is fine in a LTR, as long as the wacker isn't rejecting the partner's sexual advances. It comes off that you would rather jack off than be with your partner. Not cool at all.

Your partner doen't know a thing about masturbation. It is absolutelly normal and healthy to masturbate even during a relationship. He certainly needs to open his narrow mind and learn a thing or two…

Agree with most of the replies above– And it's your body. Your partner doesn't suddenly own it when you're in a relationship. I'd say it's worth talking to your partner about regarding expectations, good communication is key!
