Discouraged Uploader
-
I am new to the site, and have only been uploading for a couple of weeks. I took a break for a few days because of comments that came through about videos and information. I personally do the best to include information that I have about the videos and the actors when uploading, but sometimes that information is incorrect or unavailable. What I am finding so discouraging are the rude, abrupt, and sometimes nasty-tinged comments posted about said incorrect or missing information. Everyone is fallible. Not everyone has the same access to resources. I have been uploading several videos this morning, and without fail, the comments started rolling in. Without those of us who upload, those who download or simply browse, would have nothing to download or look at….but the harshness of the comments has truly become so disheartening that after two weeks, one starts to wonder if it is worth making the effort to screen cap and upload new torrents to the site. Just something to think about for those users who feel the need to correct every space, hyphen, or nationality of the actors. This isn't IMDB. :cry2:

I'm not sure which comments you mean as I can't find many new ones today.
But I sympathise with your views. I have virtually given up posting here because hardly anyone says thanks (no, I don't mean bonus points, just thanks).
I am also amazed at people who demand 'what is this movie' when a couple of clicks by them could find the info (no hidden sites needed).
And anyone who makes cruel remarks after someone has gone to the bother of doing everything to post gets my contempt.
If you don't like the movie, shut up. If the poster may have got something wrong there are polite and gentle ways of pointing it out. If there is something really wrong (wrong title, wrong category..) there is the 'report' facility.
You have used the 'mot juste' in 'disheartening ' - that is exactly what it is after you have gone to all the trouble of getting things ready, seeding, using your bandwidth just to share.
I don't think the 'offenders' realise how many people they discourage, people who say 'OK, fuck it, I'll do something else'.
I hope you carry on sharing but I would not blame you a bit if you didn't

I just delete the torrents with the negative comments. I choose not to respond to the majority of them. It's easier just to take them down and say screw it.
-
It may be easier but it is sad.
The rest of us will never get to see the idiots who chase away people who are trying to share.

I almost never say "Thanks" because if I did, I would spend hours a day doing it! Don't feel insulted if someone does not thank you. If you posted because someone requested the movie, then you should not only get a thank you and points.
When I leave comments that are negative, it is because they deserve a negative comment. Someone posted an 11 minute video with terrible video resolution and no sound that was 9.6 GIGS yes GIGS. I was warning other people not to download that because that would permanently destroy the ratio of new users, and they could never recover from that. -
I wasn't implying that anyone should personally thank me for uploading a video. There is that little button that you can hit which takes one second, costs no seed points, and still lets the uploader know that their time and effort is appreciated. The comments that I was receiving were very nit-picky and argumentative when they needn't have been. It is my opinion that no one's time here is any more valuable than anyone else's. We're all a part of the same community, here for the same interests and goals. I also think that information such as an extremely large file that shouldn't be uploaded or downloaded could be addressed without being rude, abrupt, or belittling. I'm sorry to say that even your tone in your response to this topic would lead someone to believe that your time is infinitely more important than any other person who took time out of their day to screen cap, possibly resize a video, upload it, etc. so that others could enjoy it. If you are going to download it, why be so pressed that you can't hit a "thank you" tab on a screen. I lead a very busy life, but I have found that I enjoy this, and I would want to encourage others who enjoy it to keep doing so, so that I might enjoy the fruits of their efforts. No one is asking for a Hallmark card, but civility is never too much to ask for.

I am sorry that we have some rude members, but I hope that this does not discourage you from uploading or continuing being a member. These comments are not personal against you, are they? There is really no need for anyone to be ignorant or rude in comments. If there are problems with the description, pics or whatever, they should
just state what is incorrect andstate the correct information.Do not let them destroy your fun with gaytorrent.ru. If the comment are personal, offensive or rude,** please let the moderator know so they can address the member personally. ** ;DPlease just ignore these nasty comments and

a) If an upload presentation is missing information required by the Rules, please report the upload, best giving the missing information.
The staff will ask the uploader to improve it.You can as well add missing pictures to the presentation and add information in a comment. Please don't make a comment that xyz is missing, everybody can see that and once presentation has been corrected that comment becomes wrong itself.
b) If an upload presentation is misleading or wrong, again, please report the upload, indicating what is wrong and best what it should be instead. The staff will remove the misleading or wrong information and replace it with the provided (hopefully) correct.
Please don't state xyz is wrong in a comment, but indicate what is right instead. If pictures are wrong, try to add correct pictures, so that upon the staff handling the report has removed the wrong pictures, some good stay.
Please keep in mind when commenting that the uploader are sharing with us for free and presentations can be edited. Often new uploader struggle alone to get the upload up and seeded. At that stage of experience, "perfect" presentations are of a secondary concern and I'm sure most uploader once having learned to get torrents up and running, will step to making better presentations.

I almost never say "Thanks"
I think that is one of the worst replies you have made…
because if I did, I would spend hours a day doing it!
You download so many titles a day that when picking up the torrent you can't click the 'Thanks' button :faint: When do you ever have time to watch the stuff?
When I leave comments that are negative, it is because they deserve a negative comment.
In YOUR opinion - a tad arrogant to suppose you are always correct.
I think I agree with just about everything phineas wrote, including the bit about your tone which may not have been meant by you.
Personally I don't seed here any more except for people I know who request and are good members of the site.
