Do you still go to the gym if you have the flu?

As the title states, if you catch the flu..do you still go to the gym or take some time off?
Thanks!

I haven't been to the gym in so long, it doesn't matter.
Although, the rule I remember hearing is no workout if you have a fever. Best to rest. -
Please don't go while your in your infected stage. http://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/disease/spread.htm

Nope, it's bad not only for you…but the entire gym.

Thanks, yes that's what I thought too…just stay away. But the guy I was talking to at the gym (a body building guy) said when he got the flu he still just comes to the gym, and I see someone voted yes in the poll above too..hmm..

No it makes the flu / symptoms worse

The flu causes inflammation in all the muscles of the body, including the heart. It is extremely dangerous, even if you are fit and healthy, to do strenuous exercise when you have the flu. When doctors say "rest", they mean it. There is always a spike in heat attacks during and in the months following flu season.
However, a lot of people mistake a cold for the flu. The flu causes a sore throat in the early stages, HIGH FEVER, chills, headache, muscle and joint pain, but often relatively minor respiratory symptoms compared to a common cold. If you have a runny nose, sneezing, coughing, red eyes, but no high fever and no headache and no muscular pain, you have a cold, not the flu. If you really have the flu (H1N1 influenza), you probably won't be thinking about doing anything except laying on your back.

No, it's best to let your body recover from sickness before you exercise at the gym.
