How long am I meant to wait?

So I was on grindr (terrible place to look for a genuine relationship) but then this really cute guy about 6 years older than me messages me and we get to talking and sparks are flying all over and within like 20 minutes of chatting I decide, holy hell, I'd really like to go on a few dates with this lovely gentleman. So I give him my number and we text a little bit before I tease and ask when does he plan on asking me out. Everything pretty much died down from there.
Way I saw it, it's exactly like chatting someone up and asking them out after. It doesn't take too long, does it? I'm not exactly familiar with the whole dating scene but anyway back to the question. How long is one meant to wait exactly before asking someone out on a D–-ate?

It's based on the vibe you're getting. It can be instantly, next day, 1 week, 1 month etc. If the vibe takes time…a good way to figure it out is when that person is on cam with you chatting & smiling and not just exchanging pics. You'll know he's real when he's on cam/facetime. After that, typically, you'll be online with him every day if there is a connection. Then you just take it from there (and have tons of sex when you meet). :hug2: :crazy2:   :cheesy2:

There are so many different variables the only person who can really tell you honestly when it's the right time to ask someone out on a date is you. Whatever someone else tells you is advice and as such you should take it under advisement to be used when you make your decision.
I have very limited experience with Grindr but have used some of the other apps as well as other forms of internet dating & although they may be a great way to meet new people they might not be the best avenue for finding dates. That may just be my mindset but I would say going on a date was not on the minds of most of guys I have met either.
If you are going to use Grind and such for dating purposes may I suggest loosening up a bit? Instead of chatting a guy up and jumping ahead to a date perhaps just a simple meet and greet?

Well maybe the guy has just gotten out of a relationship and you were signaling you might want to get serious so he bailed (my opinion).
I myself met my man on Manjam (even worse place to look for genuine relationship) but I got lucky and we've been together for going 3 years now. Online dating is not all bad, though most of the time, it is.
