      Hey there.

So, I've been using PIA's proxy configured through uTorrent with Sock5 for a while; but lately (like the past month or so), GTRU torrents don't connect unless I turn off the proxy. But torrents on other sites work just fine through the proxy. And they used to work fine through GTRU, too; so I don't know what changed.

I know it's suggested that we use the whole VPN, rather than just a proxy through the torrent app, but the VPN slows my traffic down (I'm on a 100Mbit connection that the VPN just can't get close to). So, I'm really hoping there's a solution that allows me to connect through proxy, like I'm able to do with other trackers (both mainstream, like KAT, and other gay porn trackers).

Just FYI, I've tried changing the tracker URL to a .tw TLD, and tried removing SSL from the protocol (https to http) but it doesn't seem to work. Any suggs?

      Thanks!

Sadly, with some of the changes that were made to the site some time ago, most proxy servers will choke on the site and tracker due to technical limitations with the proxy not accepting JavaScript redirects. In a nut shell, you'll be hard pressed to find a proxy service that will work with this, since most of them do not forward such things. This will mean that a VPN is more or less your only option, unless you can find a proxy service that doesn't completely choke on the redirect to get to the servers.

You could still try the non SSL (https) tracker connection through the proxy.  When trying that, you have not only to change https into http, but as well add the port 2710.

So for example the starting of the tracker URL from

          https://tracker.gaytorrent.ru/…

          into

          http://tracker.gaytorrent.ru:2710/… or http://tracker.gaytorrent.tw:2710/…

I'd suck your dick if I could; but alas, all I can do is say thanks.  :cool2:

Just out of curiosity, would it be possible to include that proxy-accessible URL as one of the additional trackers in the list so that people like me won't have to manually edit the URL every time we download a torrent?

There is a setting for the tracker URL to be http or https in the "Profile Settings" > https://www.gaytorrent.ru/my.php

"SSL Tracker [  ] (Uncheck to Turn off SSL Announce Urls)"

That is the second item and the box need to be unchecked and the tracker URL in the torrent will be the http URL.
