Doctors today. Who can you trust?

Do you have a time limit when you go to see your doctor? You should! Mine was at 2p.m. last Wed. "He returns from lunch at 2" I was told. At 2:45, I almost went to the window to reschedule. I should have. At 3pm, I was brought in, not happy and the beginnings of a major headache was looming. The lady said I was to have a physical today. I said I'll pass on that. She then wanted to at least get my blood pressure. I passed on that, too. I said I just wanted my prescriptions renewed. I said I didn't even want to see the doctor. Ended with no renewals and making another appointment for the 15th. I can't wait. Oh, wait. I'll have to wait because doctors rarely stick to the times of your appointments.
This is the way things go with doctors now. They must have all these blood tests to justify their prescriptions. I've been doing these tests over a period of 20 years. I thought it was time I decided what was going into my body. I looked up all the pills I was taking online and read the side effects. One, Crestor, imo, is too dangerous. Another, Bystolic can cause problems with blood flow in the feet and legs. I have Neuropathy!! (it means nerve damage in the feet and legs) I'm amazed my doctor is ok with me taking this crap! Think your doctor knows your history without looking at your charts? Think again! The 15th of next month could be the turning point for me finding a different doctor after seeing my current one for about 25 years. These tests they run, if the numbers are up or down a bit, it's all they need to put you on another pill. Just last night, after taking only my blood pressure pill that day, I slept better and longer than I have in over 5 years. Take control of what you put into your body, people! Look up all those pills you take online and find out what could happen to you. End of rant.

Crestor is a statin for cholesterol.
Bystolic is a beta blocker for irregular heartbeat and other heart issues.
Very few drugs are 100% safe and none are free from side effects in all people. It's a benefit vs risk issue. In many cases, doctors have to choose which issues are the most important and treat those as the priority.
As for changing your pills based on a small change in your test scores, that's quite often due to the guidelines given for the pills.
I too have neuropathy. I have it below the knees and in my forearms. My feet are the worst. I'm also on statins. I had high cholesterol (red zone), but now I'm in the yellow zone (high side of the safe area).

Crestor, imo, is too dangerous.
There's lots of debate concerning the overuse of HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors, particularly in people who might probably get the same effect just from low-cholesterol diets & exercise, had they been given that chance first by their drs.
