Seeding with very low kb/s
-
Hey there,
I'm looking to increase my ratio with seeding but I just can't get any upload speed. Even with files that have about 15 leechers I'm not getting any upload. Current file that I am downloading will upload at .1-.5kb/s which is terrible because my potential download is around 2mb/s+. This is killing my ratio and I have dropped below the minimum and I really want to get it back up. What information do you guys need to know to verify settings are correct or why my upload is extremely low or null.

Your µTorrents is reported as not connectible and the low upload rates with downloading peers is typical symptom.
The downloading peer's torrent client will download from other seeder's torrent clients to which they can connect and request what they need to get.
Steps to try to get your torrent client connectble:
a) activate UPnP port-forwarding in the client (µTorrent)
b) restart your modem/router (the box from the ISP)
c) restart your computer
(above assumes the modem/router has UPnP activated, which should be it's default)µTorrent got a built-in test:
Options > Setup Guide > select the Network test and run it. If it returns a green check symbol, it is connectible, if it is yellow/orange it is not connectible. If not connectible, please visit the µTorrent help pages and forum and portforwarding.com (with details how to manually configure a port-forwarding for many router/modems). -
I've already did the steps you asked and still no luck. The uTorrent test shows "port is not open (you are still able to download).
However it shows a green check at the bottom right corner of uTorrent. Any other suggestions?

Assign a fixed port number in µTorrent's connection settings (in the 30 000 area) and repeat the steps b) then c) in that order. It seems your µTorrent uses random ports.
Are you using a VPN, if yes, which provider?

I am not using a VPN. I shortly used the option to randomize the port to see if that would help but it didn't so im back to static port. My uploads are still 0 or flash .1kb/s then go away. Current downloads only upload around 2.3kb/s. I'm still trying to figure out what is throttling my upload. I reinstalled uTorrent, readded the files and one of the files I added uploaded very shortly about 800kb/s then shot back down to nothing or .1kb/s flashing every now and then. Still searching online for answers…

I'm not an expert on this issue and I don't remember uT default setting, but do you set your Maximum upload rate to 0 (0 = unlimited)?
-
Yes the upload rate is currently at (0) aka unlimited.

Now that you use again a fixed port, can you make sure there is an exception in all the firewalls you use for that port and incoming connections TCP and UDP protocols?
I say all firewalls, because you might have multiple in use, the Windows built-in (to which UPnP should have created an exception for µTorrent), your internet security suite (aka anti virus) a stand alone software firewall and finally the firewall in your modem/router (which should let them pass because of UPnP, but you might have manually chosen safer settings prohibiting such exception creation through UPnP).

Another thing to consider is the health of the torrent. It's possible you are downloading less popular torrents, or those that have few leechers and therefore are not uploading.
