Freeleeching

When there is an option to make a torrent a freeleech, how does it actually work. What does it mean "making this torrent will cost 24 seedbonus point for 24 hours(or 1 seedbonus point per hour)"
What if I only have 1 seedbonus point and I want this torrent to be freeleech for 1 hour, is that possible? -
I'm afraid 24 hours is the minimum time for making a torrent freeleech
-
Actually, you can make them freeleech for as little as 3 hours.
The cost varies from torrent to torrent. From memory, it's based on number of seeders and length of being inactive.

Since the topic about freeleeach, I have question also…
Do the uploader got shared seed bonus if someone made his/her torrent freeleech?
Mind if I post torrent here?

I asked about that torrent to helpdesk…. Back to the torrent, at the moment total seed bonus gift is 106, but the thanks seed bonus point only counted 56. The answer I got that the uploader got 55 extra seed bonus because apparently someone make the torrent freeleech that cost him/her 55 seed bonus.
And, now here's the problem... my torrent
! https://www.gaytorrent.ru/details.php?returnto=%2Fmytorrents.php%3Fpage%3D1&id=0ba930ae451702db1ea5c725ec39d434fca767d819d263ed… Someone made it freeleech, but I don't see "anything" in the seedbonus gift.
Do I get sbp directly to my account but no mark on the torrent? or there is no shared sbp? If there is no shared sbp, any other explanation about what happened to the torrent that got 55 extra bonus?
I hope the answer would make this clear. Thank you

For we ordinary members we are only given the option of 12-hour set periods starting at 24 hours and going up to 156 hours in the freeleech drop-down box

I'm sure I read a recent reply saying the calculation was based on length/size of file - something like 200 points for a starting point.
I can't find that answer just now. Just found it https://forum.gaytorrent.ru/index.php?topic=24581.0I think there is a time element involved somewhere. But a torrent doesn't need to be inactive to make it freeleech

The uploader don't get points when one of his torrents is made freelecch. My guess is that the "lost" points were given by "unknown" members, means members who's account got deleted from the data base and therefore their name (with the points given) can't be shown.
The minimum freeleech period is 24 hours, for staff too. At early times, freeleech started at short periods. This lead to uncompleted "free" downloads of which the remaining download suddenly counted. That is minimised with the 24 hours minimum.
Freeleech depends on the product of size and duration: 1 GBx 1 day requires 200 points.
There was quite some discussion to make freeleech depending on age or seeder number, but nothing was implemented…

I can make this torrent freeleech for 3 hours, for 101.xxx points. It's a DVD-R as well.

Popper, I think you've just answered a query for me. I wondered what happened if you gave points to someone who was no longer here. And if they couldn't be given, would they be deducted from the giver's total anyway. I have this impression of Mods gathering all the unallocated bonus points in a big pile in .ru Central and running their fingers through them saying 'Mine, all mine' :rotfl:
And raphjd's link only allows me to start at 24 hours freeleech. I can see that three hours is way too short if it is not renewed. By the time some members will have noticed there could be only minutes left.
Each site has its own policy for freeleech and its own implementation. I may prefer one or the other but I haven't found any of the gay sites to be bad.

Thanks Popper for the explanation… I think its clear now
