The plan I am on with my current ISP allows me an unlimited download/upload speed, basically what ever I can hit is what I get lol.. Right now my download speed hits anywhere between 500KBps-1.5MBps, about half of my old provider.. however my old provider maxed out at 125KBps for upload and the one I have now can barely hit 25KBps.. I have a Belkin Wireless N Gigabit router so I know it's not that, I can transfer files between computers over the network at blistering speeds.. Just wondering if there is anything I can do about upload speeds, I'm tempted to call and ask them..
But anyways, thought's, advice, etc all welcome
A couple things, I'm not aware of any ISP that has unlimited ul/dl speeds What they probably mean is unlimited (to a point in most cases) ul/dl volume. You never mentioned what tech it's being serviced over, DSL/Cable/Fiber/Ethernet etc. That can have an impact. Also, WiFi can degrade bittorrent traffic - go wired if you can. Also, check what you're paying for. 3Mb/s, 10Mb/s etc - Note: that's megabits per second not megabytes. They're totally different animalsโฆ
