That wasn't what happened.
The White House stated a few weeks ago: “President Donald J. Trump is determined to protect the rights of all Americans, including the LGBTQ community. President Trump continues to be respectful and supportive of LGBTQ rights, just as he was throughout the election.
“[The order which] protects employees from anti-LGBTQ workplace discrimination while working for federal contractors will remain intact at the direction of President Donald J. Trump.”
The only thing that occurred over the weekend was that newly-confirmed Attorney General Jeff Sessions pulled the federal government’s legal support for Obama administration anti-discrimination protections for transgender students.
This has nothing to do with gay people in the workplace. This is about all the drama around transgender people who have not yet transitioned using the bathroom of the gender they want to transition to. This only applies to students and schools in states that had filed lawsuits, nothing to do with gay rights.
