Kudos to the moderator for pointing out facts about saliva and the possibility of certain enzymes inactivating the virus. Except as noted in a previous post, there are no documented stats that show anyone ever contracting HIV through oral sex. Just be careful of any wounds in the mouth. Brushing your teeth CAN cause minute openings in the gums.

RE: Acne wound while having sex
I'm in agreement with the opinion of others here. No chance of getting HIV through acne and semen. First of all, the bleeding pustule is probably exudating, meaning any fluid is coming out and preventing anything getting in. The moderator is correct. Unless you have an open wound in your mouth, saliva can (no absolute proof) prevent virii from getting into the bloodstream. Again, it's important to know that HIV must get through the mucous membrane and into the blood. That's the only way for it to multiply.

RE: Watersports and HIV question
Piss is sterile coming out of the body. However, virii can pass from blood to urine. If someone tests negative for HIV, good chance they're clean. Remember, HIV can take 3 months before detection using older systems. Modern tests can get an accurate reading within 24-48 hours after contact. That's why I don't understand why there is still a ban on gays giving blood. The blood banks are screaming for donors, but cut almost half of their supply with the ban. A bigger surprise is that the gay community are the ones that voluntarily said yes to the ban. The facts have changed dramatically; gays have the lowest percentage of the population who are infected. This number continues to decrease. To fully answer the question, watersports is safe as long as it doesn't into the bloodstream by any means. Skin is an excellent barrier.

RE: If semen/blood is exposed to air, there is no chance of AIDS?
HIV can live 9 hours outside the body. I'm a lab tech and have studied this disease intensely. Being gay and active, I need to know these facts. The viral disinfectants work within 10-15 minutes. The best choice is bleach. Obviously, there isn't any effective disinfectant that can be used on mucous membranes. All you can do is get tested regularly and use precaution. BTW, there is some theory that semen in the mouth is safe. The enzymes in saliva "might" inactivate the virus. Spitting doesn't matter. Don't take the chance. Personally, I hate the taste of rubber/latex. I would hate the illness more. Oh, yeah, I forgot. Pre-cum can carry the virus, too. Any questions? Feel free to ask. I've studied STD's in depth since 1982 when my best friend died needlessly.
