Has anyone else noticed the recent Tie Guy UK posts all seem to have been pulled… theyre not showing as banned... know whats happened?

sadly to torys support this too so even if the government changes at the next election theres not much chance of this being looked at again… the one bright spot is that the measures are unlikely to hold up in a court if challenged... and im sure every liberal lawyer in the country is desperate to be the first one to take this to the courts.... what joy!

this bill was passed into law with a significant majority… are there any plans for this tracker to start using encryption or advising on the use of encyption to help people get around this?

Whats the current situation with the servers….. I note that the announcement says there will likely be more changes and suggests keeping client software running throughout the entire time..... unfortunately i can't keep my system running constantly so I've stopped uploading since yesterday so that I don't risk losing any uploads I make...... can someone please advise on the current status of the move and whether or not its now safe to start uploading again bearing in mind that i can't keep it running constantly???

I have been uploading quite a few torrents recently and seem to have been unlucky enough to post at bad times and they dont get the kind of attention that id like (of course some might not be popular as well….. im not trying to say all my posts are the best )....... the problem is that torrents that end up on the front page in the top 30 list seem to get more notice because theyre easily accessible and I was wondering if there was a way that could be implemented to help people promote their torrents...... maybe a small section on the front page showing the most recent torrents or a cycling list showing all torrents posted within the past few hours....... I know people only have to make a few clicks to get to a torrent but once its put onto the second page of torrents its much easier to miss and less interest is generated (in my opinion).....  Im just suggesting cos I think it might be a good way to promote peoples torrents and generate more interest and help people feel appreciated for posting....... when you spend a lot of time putting together a torrent for uploading it can be disheartening to have only a few people interested because they may not have seen it (again, i dont think the sun shines out of my own back end - im not trying to say all my torrents are great and everyone should leech them...... its just a little disheartening )

I would agree with throbbin….. i gave up on the idea if getting near power user status ages ago cos it would mean me uploading at full speed for around half a year...... if I were starting over again id probably like to keep in the power user bracket but when I first started here the minimum ratio was .35 (i think) and then dropped to .25 and this was the first torrent group id got involved in so I didnt see any problem with making sure i kept on the right side of the requirments but not having a ratio of 1..... this isnt an excuse or a cry for sympathy its just a statment of my reality..... the only thing that the new steps have done is drop me into the rationators sights and make my life more difficult DESPITE keeping well within the existing rules.

Dont get me wrong I can understand whats being said about making it easier for people by making all the steps more even but by doing it overnight and without any warning you have placed people like me uunder their current stepping with nothing to do but hope that what theyve downloaded is suddenly popular enough to give them sufficient upload traffic...... i have uploaded a few of my own torrents but most of what I have came from here so its not a complete solution that will likely leave me coming up short....... DESPITE keeping well within the rules..... I havent broken any rules to get myself a rationator warning, the goalposts were moved!

not a bad idea at all though i suspect that many users will be needing to keep their credit to keep their ratio up (like myself)

Does anyone know of good chubby websites - id be particularly interested in british ones if they exist.
