FLV Video is Choppy and Blah….
-
So,
I downloaded a collection of nice .flv videos and they're all choppy and unwatchable. They seem to play around 3/4 slow motion with breaks in the video and sound.
I usually use VLC 2.1.3, but I've tried MPC-HC 1.7.3, Applian's FLV Player, and Windows Media Player with K-lite Codec Pack 10.3.5 Full. Actually in MPC-HC and Windows Media Player the sound is garbled, and in Applian's FLV Player the sound is intermittent static.
I also converted the .flv to a .avi, but it was still choppy and unenjoyable.
I'm running Vista 64-bit SP1 (I know, I know) on a Intel Core2 Quad 2.33GHz and 6GB RAM.
Any ideas?

I hate FLV (and RM based media) with a passion.
Your system is strong enough to play any video type out there.
If VLC can't play them I'm at a loss.

It could be that the files you downloaded are crap ???

If the download was with a torrent from here and after all those trials, you should consider to report that torrent (and look if others were making comments about playback issues).

i don't like VLC Player, GOM Player works far better on my PC, maybe you could check it out, or, as the others said, that are crappy videos

I could also have something to do with the program you used to download the videos. I generally use Netvideo Hunter on Firefox. It seems to find the actual source files and let's be download them. 90% of the time I seem to get .mp4 files. This could also have to do with the sites I'm downloading from… but generally if it won't play on MPC or FLV your video files are probably junk.
