Active downloading limit?

Is there a download limit that you can only be downloading so many torrents at once? I know we have the daily download limit which im currently at 62 per day but I can only actively download 8 at a time? ???

There is a limit of .torrent files, which can be downloaded in a gliding 24 hours window introduced with Rationator 3.0. This is controlled by the web site system.
There is and was always a limit of torrents being leeched (downloading) at the same moment. This limit is described in the "Rules" > "Downloading Rules". It depends on share ratio and user status.
Both things are different. To explain, here some examples.
A/ Taking the 62 per day .torrents file limit and 8 actively downloads of g0d. So he can get up-to 62 .torrent files in a 24 our window, but if he loads all of them at once in the torrent client, only 8 will get peers from he tracker and on the others the tracker will send message that the active download number is limited to 8 and the share ratio needs to be increased or donated.
Now if torrents are well seed, they can finish rather fast (I get some in less than an hour completed) and another torrent will get the peers from the tracker. The tracker control is not perfect, because each torrents run on it's own schedule and updates in 30 minutes intervals. So it might happen that a "red" torrent is downloading from peers he is connected to from an earlier update.
B/ A new user, with only 1 .torrent file per day and 3 active downloads at the same moment. He can add each 24 hours another torrent into his torrent client programme. If old torrents are chosen, the download might be slow and it can take days or even weeks to complete it. Then after a few days, the 3 at a time active downloads might be exceeded.
Of course that slow downloading torrents an apply to the case A/ too. The only solution is to stop a slow downloading torrent in favour of another (faster) and to restart it later.
There is another "trap" the active downloading torrent limits. Seeds can be only peers who got all files of a torrent's file list. That means that on a multiple file torrent it had been selected not to download all files and those selected download is finished, the tracker will still count it as (leeching/downloading) "Peer", i.e. to the active downloads. So that torrent while showing seeding in the torrent client (and it's uploaded data registered as such by the tracker) is taking a concurrent downloading torrent slot.

Ah okay, I knew about how many torrents we could download from but not about the leaching part. I couldn't find any info on it. Thanks
