"International Olympic Committee announces new Policy on the Protection of the Female (Women’s) Category in Olympic Sport"

      https://www.olympics.com/ioc/news/international-olympic-committee-announces-new-policy-on-the-protection-of-the-female-women-s-category-in-olympic-sport

Eligibility for any female category event at the Olympic Games or any other IOC event, including individual and team sports, is now limited to biological females, determined on the basis of a one‑time SRY gene screening.

Evidence‑based and expert‑informed, the policy – applicable for the LA28 Olympic Games onwards – protects fairness, safety and integrity in the female category.

It is not retroactive and does not apply to any grassroots or recreational sports programmes

To venture my view: It protects LGBT like anyone.

Lesbian athletes & Trans-identified female athletes (sometimes called transgender men), can rest easy knowing male athlete won't give them life-threatening injuries like poor Payton McNabb got (https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/cmte_testimony/2025/wam/1E52PALNHjL37zcTICExf7g4TqIaF3cuW.pdf).

Trans-identified male athletes (sometimes called transgender women) can rest easy knowing that in 2026, policy requires males to welcome them, plus, they will not suffer sexual harassment lawsuits from female & when they win events, it will be real win (not mere bullying of weaker females).

"'Better late than never,' one gold medalist said"

Words of approval from 13 past winners of both sexes. Plus Martina Navratilova is presented but her words omitted by mistake? 🙄
