Torrents will not seed once downloaded

Hi everyone,
When I am downloading torrents I leave them to seed for a good few days and yet for awhile now any torrent I try and seed after downloading either doesn't have anyone able to connect or seeds for a tiny amount of time or speed, so at the moment I am not getting a ratio of above 0.2/0.3 which is severly affecting my ratio on the site.
There are no issues when downloading the torrents and once completed they show as seeding, the tracker says its working and Utorrent says the network is ok. I have also tried different versions of Utorrent, currently 3.2.1 but also tried version 2.2.1 to see if that helps and am slowly running out of ideas. I am not too great with the little settings you can change within the torrent program so am not sure if one of these could be affecting it?

I just had a look at your stats and they are excellent so :panic:
Upon looking at your uploads and downloads the obvious thing I see is that are few to no leechers for them. Currently you are seeding 2 torrents and neither have leechers for them. So, you will gain Seed Bonus Points but you will not see any increase in upload amount.
IMHO ~ the fix for this situation is to begin downloading from the newest posts to the tracker. Torrents have only 1 seeder and many leechers. These torrents will seed while downloading as new leechers come on line and will most likely continue to seed when your download is completed. If the torrent is quite popular it will seed for some time. I have found this to be the best way for me to maintain constant seeding.
One other thing you could do is seed your entire library of torrents when you are seeding. This way if a leechers comes on line you can be connected by our system. The system will connect you to as many as 15 torrents with leechers. Again increasing your chance to actually accrue upload amounts.
Perhaps others will have more suggestions but if you try this advice I think you will see he change you are seeking.

I have the same concern. I can keep things available to seed for days and uTorrent will show my share ratio is often < 0.50 for any given torrent. And of course my ratio on here continues to drop. I have donated a couple of times to keep my ratio higher to try to offset the issue, but my ratio continues to be eaten away. As far as the suggestion to get the most recent torrents and seed, I don't want to download something I don't want with just the hope that it will up my ratio (when there is no guarantee). I'm not in any kind of danger at the moment of dropping below Rationator requirements, but I'm still concerned.
Maybe it's just the nature of the users on here and that I'm just SOL.
Anyway…thanks. Any other suggestions would be great. I may have to just start packaging together some things to upload. I have a lot of "tube" videos that are great. I suppose I'll begin sharing those.

I understand not wanting to download something for the sake of ratio increase alone but it does work if you jump on a brand new post with only 1 seeder and many leechers ~ especially the earlier you join the swarm the better for your ratio.
If your torrents are not seeding because there are no leechers for them then uploading new content is the best way to improve your ratio truly.
Then more hours seeding will gain you more Seed Bonus Points to help out as well

also, you can use the site-search to find old torrents with no traffic. if you have the corresponding files, we can promote the old torrent and you may be the only seeder for all connected peers …
as for clients, so far, Vuze has the best sharing options & settings. alas, other clients are designed just to download their stuff asap, without fair-share options ...

So basicly one has to follow the crowd of the ever popular mainstream porn studios in order to have ratio to get the porn we actually want, some being almost dead because we like it but the majority of population here does not, we have to download for the sharing ratio things we don't care about… and I pass to rant that the top is almost the same, bbk-american studio (with exception of ERICVIDEOS) some of this films shared in different categories same file, in 2 different sizes in 3 different codec formats... and the amount of double and even triple copies, but has I look to the request section its also all there is requests about, I remeber that some years ago there were much more diversity in torrents, and you could see people actually searched for old files too, now it seams more and more than beyound the fourth page of browing there lies death by oblivion, it's all about getting the newest file.

That is a particular (valid) view. However I am totally against the perversion to download new torrents not liked, just to try to improve the share ratio. If everyone does that, it amplifies the situation and it creates traffic just for traffic, not to get a file.
The most difficult is certainly to get a feet into it, when starting here. My suggestions to start:
- Wait until a new torrent you really like is listed on the top, then hit and keep it seeding.
- Keep seeding, seeding, seeding
- When there is no more leecher and many seeds, stop seeding, but KEEP the torrent and file
- Wait until the next new torrent you really like is listed on the top, then hit and keep it seeding.
- Keep seeding, seeding, seeding

. - After a few months, look if there are still many seeds, if not restart the torrent and keep it seeding, so that if a member searching the torrent list and starting downloading does it from you
I've many very old torrents and few of them are always demanded. Because I kept the torrent and files, I am one of the few uploading, if not the only.

As for the diversity, it completely depends on the members. What ever you like, if there is something you've got and not against the rules, why not sharing it? That is how variety here can be assured.
It is not that important that there are mostly bareback North American productions, but that there are hundreds or thousands of other things, too.

:true: However most of this other "diverse" go really fast out of seeders, this "perversion" you mentioned is happening, mostly because people are tired of waiting for something and they want to balance the ratio since they downloaded those other torrents which were almost dead. I was being ironic about it too, I believe in the method you advised, however it works well only for new torrents if someone wanted to download mostly the old torrents he's ratio would be very hard to maintain on the positive side, certainly being rare however it do happens.

There are a variety of ways to obtain upload credit.
(1) Submit a new upload –-- earn upload credit and receive bonus seed points from other users
(2) Seed downloaded torrents --- earn upload credit and 0.5 seed points per hour
(3) Exchange bonus seed points for upload credit
(4) Vote on categories for torrents you've downloaded - earn 1 bonus seed point per torrent
(5) Donate for upload credit
(6) Send invitations to friends for 2 GB bonus upload credit
(7) Submit pictures for torrents with less than 10 total pictures for 1 bonus seed point per picture -
The difficulty with what I propose is, that it means to start activity here very slowly and to speed up steadily.

I have the same issue of not being able to seed. The problem lies on GTru's side, but they don't want to acknowledge the problem.
According to the FAQ, they banned the usual ports used for Bittorrent and want you to fiddle around with port forwarding in your router, even though they could adjust this themselves and open the ports. They rather annoy us users than be user-friendly.

You mix things up:
A/ We use the port 2710 for our tracker, because the standard ports are often blocked by Internet Service Providers. That is in the interest of the users here.
B/ The port forwarding you need to set-up in your router/modem has nothing to do with the port 2710 we use for our tracker!
C/ The port you need to forward for incoming connections (or use UPnP / NAT-PMT in both torrent client programme and router/modem) is the port you set-up in your torrent clients programmes connection settings. You are free to use the Bit Torrent standard ports, on the risk to be blocked by your ISP.

2- I agree but 0.5 couldn't it be a whole seed per hour that would be great for the users

7- I loathe when people post more and more of the same pics, many obviously blown up and pixelized ò_ó besides I per exemple don't seem to be able to post pics above the 60kb size -

Upload works on publicbt.comOver the time the problem on GTru has persisted, I changed the ISP and the router. It's always GTru that never works. No ISP in my country blocks Torrents, as download is allowed and they would cause outrage/lose customers.
I tried qBitTorrent and uTorrent, I used UPnP, I set the port in those programs to 15901, upload never worked. I just set it now to 2710 to test, upload still doesn't work.

Can you tell me what you seed as tracker message next to the tracker announce URL under the "Tracker" tab in the lower µTorrent window?
Is your torrent client programme showing the number of peers available as seeder and leecher for torrents from GayTorrent.ru?
(NB.: Not knowing which programme you use, I assume you use µTorrent/BitTorrent like the large majority)

Peers: 8I don't know what's happening, all of a sudden (since about two hours) I'm uploading to another guy. This is a premiere since months and completely confusing as I didn't play around with the uTorrent settings for a week.
Edit: and as soon as I wrote this message, the leecher is gone.

OK, what you say confirms that your µTorrent can connect to the tracker ("working") and gets the peer information from it S/L = 17/8.
The effect for seeing leecher being connected only seldom and for short periods lets assume as most probable cause that your µTorrent is not connectible. That means incomming requests from other peers don't reach it. That makes seeding after the download completed quite difficult.
That can be tested in µTorrent > Setup Guide … > select the "Network" test only and run the test. The result should be a green check sign, not orange. Please tell us the result.

I'm having the same problem.
1. I can download torrents.
2. I can upload torrents on other trackers.
3. The tracker says "working" and tells me the seeds and peers.
4. Peers connect but instantly disconnect.I get flooded with errors like these:
Disconnect: Peer error: offline (timed out)
Disconnect: Connection closed
Disconnect: Timed outThe file I was trying to seed showed 34/17 but I could never seed.

Did you test if your µTorrent is connectible, see my earlier message in this topic?
If you use a WiFi internet access, try a cable instead.

Yeah, I see the green check mark when I do the test.
Not using WiFi.A BitComet 1.31 user will connect to me but not download anything. Every other peer connects then disconnects instantly.
I'm currently trying to seed two things, one doesn't have any peers at the moment but the other shows 31 peers right now. I can't get anything to seed.
