Uploads not being credited, mods not responding
-
On October 21 I uploaded a very large (83GB) torrent file that I have seeded for 24 hours a day since. According to my statistics in the seeding program, I have uploaded 113GB on the site.
The site shows 7 seeders, 8 leechers, and 18 snatchers.
Meanwhile, in 7 days, my ratio has not changed upward at all.
I have sent a polite note to the mods asking what's going on and not gotten a response.Am I doing something wrong? Or is the site not crediting me the way it should?
-
I've encountered something similar many times before...More than likely, the other seeders have a better and faster connection than you do, are able to seed more quickly, and it's likely their seeding is simply overtaking yours.
Personally, after I upload a torrent and others have gotten on board the seeding, I simply stop because their seeding supercedes mine and I also never see any change in my ratio after that.
-
@cinemacapman It's not just the ratio that is the concern. I have not been credited the 113GB that I did upload, and have a warning on my account about my ratio being too low. It would NOT be too low if the system was properly crediting my account.
-
@AMPTWO The problem in your case is that the difference between the amount you have uploaded and the amount you have downloaded is more than 1 TB. When the numbers are this large, 113 GB is not that much of a difference.
According to your profile, you have less than 10 GB left until your low ratio warning is removed.
Since 1 TB is 1024 GB, 113 GB would only equate to about 0.11 TB.... Not enough to really make much of a noticeable difference. Now, if you look at the buffer/deficit size, that's where you'll notice the difference, even when the difference between your total upload and total download is so large.
-
@MrMazda Thanks for responding. I think I understand now, though I do not know where to look for buffer/deficit
Still, it seems odd that my numbers have not changed AT ALL in the week+ since I uploaded/seeded
-
@AMPTWO Click your username in the top right corner of the page, then click "Details & Stats".
Look for "Download Buffer" or "Amount to Seed"... This will tell you how much you either need to seed to reach your minimum ratio, or how much you can download before you will reach your minimum ratio and go into low ratio status.
-
@AMPTWO apply any one of your seeding torrent here

@MrMazda Thank you.
It has said "9.48 GB (The amount you have to seed to reach the current minimum Ratio)" for over a week now.Meanwhile, I now have 3 new torrents up, and have uploaded about 158GB in the last week.
I have sent a message to Kalayaan as per below. Hopefully that will help
-
@kalayaan it appears you did give me the 600 bonus points, but the seeding I have been doing on three torrents for two weeks now has NOT shown up at all.
How can I address this, please? There's clearly something wrong with the platform if it is showing seeding, but is not crediting it. -
@MrMazda Since you are a Global Moderator, hoping you can help.
I've looked at the Download Buffer and Amount To Seed as you suggested.
Neither of them have anything to do with the fact that since October 21, the amount did not move from .796 until today when I applied the 600 seed points that Kalayaan gave.Since October 21, I have uploaded three torrents, and am seeding on two different computers, with a current upload total of 170GB.
4 days ago, when you responded, I was at .796 percent and - as YOU noted - I had less than 10GB to go.
On October 21st, I was at .796 percent and only needed 10GB
It was the same five days ago when I had uploaded 113GB (and only needed 10GB)
It was the same two days ago when I had uploaded 158GB (and only needed 10GB)
It was the same 30 minutes ago when I had uploaded 170GB (and only needed 10GB)Clearly, there is something wrong.
-
@AMPTWO Just a funny question... Are you by chance using a proxy service with your torrent client? This is the kind of thing that can happen with the use of a proxy service instead of a full VPN.
-
@MrMazda not to my knowledge, I have a VPN, but only use it at specific times and the rest of the time it is off.
I upload with Transmission and qBitTorrent.
I have sent you a private chat.
The problem has gotten significantly worse. -
You're bringing pertinent information regarding to your uploading history in the past days, but you're missing the downloading stats. I don't know if you're tracking it as vigorously, but it's the other half of the equation.
If you are able to download and seed that means there's nothing wrong with your torrent client or firewall settings. Also, if your torrents are seeding that means your connection is not being blocked by the anti-ddos system.
After your ratio fall bellow .800 you still have a gracetime of 45 days, you can still download freely in that period, so I assume you're doing that.
You also mentioned you use two computers to download/seed so I hope you are properly copying files from one PC to another to avoid having torrent files downloaded twice.
-
@ianfontinell Yes, I am tracking it. I have downloaded files, but not nearly what I've uploaded.
The stats I provided to the mods are more complete, and they show that the torrents I've uploaded in the last several weeks have exceeded 300GB (including a file that was removed after a week of seeding due to a takedown request). My downloads, meanwhile, have been about 10-20GB.
When I'm not getting ANY credit for the 300GB, but am getting debited for the 10-20GB, there is something wrong.
One of the mods is looking into this for me, but it is frustrating that this is happening. And if it's happening to me, it's happening to others.
-
@AMPTWO I'm suddenly having the same issue. Have had a Tb of uploads credited over last couple months but last few days suddenly the torrents I've uploaded look like they're not fully accounted for... maybe 10% of what I've UL, like 2Gb show whereas it should be 20-30Gb
-
@vanman It is also important to note the difference between your total upload stats and the session upload stats. The stats against a seeding torrent in your profile will only show the amount of data that has been transmitted for the current session, whereas your torrent client often shows the total amount transmitted since the torrent was added to your torrent client.
As well, there's the issue of the tracker updates themselves. Your torrent client will only update with the tracker once every 30 minutes for each torrent. For this reason, there is a delay in the stats being updated, as they are not updated in realtime like your torrent client will update them.

@MrMazda to be honest at this point I don't even think I'm going to worry about it. I see this site dying a slow death. Almost every torrent of content I upload gets removed within hours. So guess this will all just become a waste of time.
