Completely confused about downloading, ratios and seeding
-
Hi. I've been using gaytorrent for quite a while now, no problems, and enjoyed it. I have downloaded many, many videos, sometimes quite a few a day. Never a problem until a few days ago, I got a warning that my ratio was too low and I would lose my downloading privileges. As much as I read your explanations, I really don't understand reseeding or what it is. All of my files are supposedly seeding, though, according to uTorrent (except they all are showing 0 B/s.) I suspect maybe some don't reseed because I change their names in my folder, but many I keep the same and they don't seed either. I remember they used to have upload speeds, but now I never see any that do. The simplest thing to do was to make a donation, which I did twice over the past few days, but that only lasts a couple of days before I get another warning.
So what I need to know is, what am I doing wrong suddenly that wasn't a problem before? Why aren't my files seeding? And can you explain in very simple, non-technical terms, how to reseed?
Thank you so much. Sorry to be so dumb. -
There is no point of seeding if there are no leecher unless someone ask for re-seed
and you're the first seeder @ that moment ...
However - the system is registering you as a seeder 0.5 points. You receive for every hour ...Here's how it works:
What is freeleech and how can it help my ratio?
SEE: https://www.gaytorrent.ru/faq.php#550In this case select any torrent w/ few seeders bunch of leechers and plenty amount of time ...

you don't have to select the whole parts, grab a few and keep seeding, you can delete or
keep them afer if there are no longer peers connected ...SEE: https://www.gaytorrent.ru/rationator.php
EQUIVALENT VALUES: download/upload/[share]
a 500 mb download = (-) minus 2 or more ...
a 500 mb + upload = (+) 1 only ...

@Quente2
Could be a technical issue or could be an issue with the torrents you are downloading.A few questions:
Have any of the torrents from this site that you are seeding ever uploaded data? If they have it's likely not a technical issue because it is showing that inbound connections are being made.Are you downloading recently shared torrents or torrents that were uploaded weeks or months ago? Older torrents don't tend to attract downloaders on a regular basis, so you shouldn't expect to upload a lot of data. Same goes for "niche" content. Keep them seeding though, because occasional downloaders will come along and the majority of torrents on this site are being kept alive by just a few seeders.
Are the torrents you are seeding titled properly? This may sound silly, but once a torrent is off the first few pages it will only be found by users who search for it. When someone is searching he will type actor names, studios or movie titles, he won't type "Hot guys fucking" or "Collection of Onlyfans". If the torrents you are seeding aren't titled properly they may as well be invisible. In the same way, poorly presented torrents (without good descriptions and preview images) and poorly organised collections tend to die. pretty quickly once they are off the first few pages.
Also bear in mind that torrents get deleted from this site regularly, either for copyright, rule violations or other random reasons. If the torrents you are seeding have been removed from the site then they won't get any uploaders.

@Quente2 first off, about reseeding:
Everything youre referring to is NOT related with reseeding, you must not confuse it for just "seeding" which is merely the act of keeping everything you've downloaded in the torrent client queue so that they can be reached out by other members.
About renaming files: There are ways to move and rename specific files WITHIN the torrent client, that way the torrent integrity is preserved and it can still be reached out. If you rename a file like you normally would do for non-torrent files, it will go missing in the eyes of the torrent client, meaning the same file could be re-downloaded, damaging your ratio.
If you download everything and don't remove or pause completed torrents from the queue, you're seeding. This means other members MIGHT reach out to your client to download it from you, but you're not the only one who's seeding so you're not going to be contacted for every active torrent you have.
For instance, I have some 200 or so torrents actively seeding. By the time I'm writing this, only two of them are being uploaded to someone.
If you really aim to improve your ratio you could try:
1 - Upload your own torrents. Could be content of your own (member content) or whatever you have in mind that's not already in here. It could be a compilation of something specific like only bareback or only oral, etc.
2 - Prefer downloading freeleech stuff. The downloaded data is not deducted from your ratio and as freeleech torrents have a high demand, you're very likely to upload them to multiple people during their freeleech time. Prioritize heavy sized freeleech torrents, let's say 30GB. They are rarer, but more effective as you'll be uploading a considerable amount of data even if only one person connects to your client.
3 - Download torrents from the home page. Those are the ones that are being leeched the most. Because of their visibility, they are basically being downloaded non-stop, so you're more likely to actively seed those.
-----About reseeding---------------
When you have downloaded something from the site and removed it from your client queue, but have not deleted the files, the torrent might end up with no active seeders. This means they cannot be downloaded, and people interested in them can make a reseed request that will get to you as a private message reminding that you have previously downloaded it. This way you can re-download only the torrent file and it will start seeding again without the need for downloading all files again, hence the name re-seed. -
@drekkin Thanks for your help.
