      I usually avoid these social networking things like the plague, to me, some things should remain private and not be broadcast to the world. But I started using Twitter mainly to follow various rugby players and purely for perving purposes. This did feel like I was a stalker, reading their banter between other players, soaking up titbits of smutty info, lusting at the pictures they posted. I'd make the occasional risque comment to them, and if you got a reply it was like gold dust. Gradually I started following my other interests, entertainers, sci-fi, politics etc, and sprouting words of drunken wisdom now and again. In other words I was getting hooked on Twitter and I had moved away from my original intentions, I had gone mainstream.  :-[

      Has anyone else got hooked on Twitter?

            Can't disagree with any of that diagram Spintendo  ;D.
            It doesn't take long to spot some common traits of Twitter eg most people are obsessed with getting more and more followers, unfollowing someone gives you a nanosecond of incredible power, minor 'celebs' get their ego fix by tweeting things like "anything good on tv tonight?" or "whats the football score?" thus generating numerous responses from their fans.

                Never heard of 'friendfeed' geographer, although I doubt it's what I think it is  😉

                  @geographer:

                  That makes two of us geographer. The only reason I have a Twitter account is to update the tracker status when the site goes down. Few members look at it though. 😕

                    Yeah, people are used to drama and fuckary on these sites and pay no attention to useful info. Seriously, when I see people updating their status on Facebook each time they are about to go to the toilet, it makes me wanna facepalm myself to death.
