How is upload calculated
-
Sorry for such a simple question, I'm a new member and was curious how the torrent upload was calculated. Is it based upon IP address? If so, does changing my IP with a vpn during an upload cause any issues?

Hi @g35 ! Your torrents will have your unique key that nobody else has.
Using a VPN should not cause any issues with that. As long as you're the only one with an account in your place, you're good to go

Welcome @g35 !
Happy Torrenting

As Ricky said, when you download a torrent here, it's generated for your use only, and the torrent file itself contains an ID that's based on your GT account. This means that if you share your downloaded torrent files with someone else, when they use them, the ammount of data downloaded will be deducted from your account, so mind that.

@ianfontinell Once the media files are downloaded, there are two ways to go:
-
Leaving the torrent running so that the media files can continued to be shared with others who also have their own passkeyed torrent file. The more others grab, the more your ratio improves because you are sharing fairly or better.
-
Sharing the media files elsewhere (or in person, etc.) which at that point will not be tied to your account as none of the files are hosted here at GayTorrent.ru.
If there is an element that I have not considered, please let me know. Learning is good, and I have lots of that to do.

@g35 How is upload calculated...
this relies on GT tracker connected to your account...
this is base upon your bandwidth [speed],
uploads of 500MB = .1 [point] with peers connected...
seeding w/o peers 0.5 seed bonus points /hr...see RATIONATOR: https://www.gaytorrent.ru/rationator.php
[this explain upload /download share statistics...]
