      Hi!

I'm sort of new to posting on forums but I wanted to see if anyone can help.  I dowloaded some videos from a website that no longer has those videos up (cam shows) and I can't seem to have them play properly.  They used to play fine in the past with vlc but now they don't work well at all. All the players I tried using don't seem to work properly. Is there anyone that can help me figure out what's wrong with the files?

        Pretty difficult request…

If it were me, I would open up HandBrake (download it for free if you don't have it...) and see what type of file it is.  If HandBrake can read it, it is still a valid video file.  Once HandBrake has read the file, convert it to something more suitable - MP4 or whatever.

Hopefully that will solve the issue for you.

The only other thing I might recommend is downloading the K-Lite Codec Mega Pack from www.codecguide.com

It has many of the codecs that are either hard to find, or you otherwise have to pay for with the newer versions of Windows, unless you install them for free from the codec pack.
