Damning report ranks UK’s legal recognition of trans people among the very worst
-
More concern about trans people is needed worldwide.
I'd like to say that things are not exactly like this in Spain: "Finally, in the fourth cluster – rated the second-worst – is the UK. Sitting alongside Slovakia, Czechia, Poland, Finland, Austria, Estonia, Spain, and Italy, these are all countries that “impose intrusive medical requirements” on trans people before they can access legal gender recognition."
There is a law in the Parliament right now that finishes with this medical requirements that used to be neeeded. Spain is very advanced in the recognition of the rights of trans people.

I'm glad to see some serious advances in trans rights there. I see trans rights as the canary in the coal mine for gay rights in general. When trans rights are under attack, as they currently are in the U.S., attacks on gay rights in general are usually simultaneous or not far behind.
We have seen some real setbacks in the post-Obama era in the U.S. in gay and trans rights, often in the context of allowing bigotry and discrimination in the guise of religious rights, which seem to include the right to hate and discriminate against those who don't adhere to a religion's precepts.

Umm, let's talk cold turkey here for a bit.
Chuck Schumer is credited as the author of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, that Bill Clinton signed into law.
Bill Clinton also signed into law; DADT and DOMA.
DADT created witchhunts in the military that was unseen before.
DOMA was the only US law to violate the full faith and credit clause of the US constitution.
Let's not forget the crime bill Biden authored that created the pipeline to prison, especially for black males. Trump of course, for honest people, reversed a lot of this.
This is where the lunatic left start screeching crap about some insane stuff that no-one can understand.
Fuck that, let's just blame Trump for everything, because ORANGE MAN BAD!!!!
-
Well, in my country there is clearly a difference between those right-wing parties who have not done anything for trans and gay rights in the last years and left-wing parties who do care about these rights.
I cannot blame Trump for everything because I do not live in the US or Johnson because I do not live in the UK. But I can blame right-wing (and far-right-wing) parties in Spain not to fight for the rights of LGT people in my country.

Yes, Clinton did do those things … but only to save his ass after his dick got him in trouble. And he and Hilary were super anti-gay when they were in Little Rock. He is an opportunist. So is his wife Hils and his good buddy Trump. Ever wonder how they ended up facing off in the last election. How convenient when they both may need pardoning for trips and activities with Epstein.
We have to get out of the mind set or Right/Left or we are screwed. Not everything is Cinnamon Hitlers fault, but a Hell of a lot is.
He openly disapproved of the Supreme Courts decision to include LGBTQ people in the Civil Rights Act. Schumer may have written the Religious Freedom, but you can bet Mike Pence is gonna abuse it, and it is very similar and a stepping stone to the horrendous crap Russia has been doing.
To act like any party in the US doesn't have blood on their hands is nuts.
Clinton should be strung up by his nuts, which have had way to much sway on our nation even now as he and Trump dodge the Epstein blackhole.
Both parties are amoral. The Democrats for now like to ruin people by hoovering. As bad as things have been under first term Trump, imagine what it will be during his second term when he has zero effs to givel Death squads? Or maybe just turning a blind eye like in Brazil after a town murders a trans person like they are attending a community picnic.

Maybe in your country. In my country there is a very clear difference between the lack of concern by those right/far-right wing parties in the government and the left-wing ones.
Fighting for the same rights for LGTB people is a question of ideology.

Both parties are amoral.
The Democrats are not great but they are certainly less amoral than the Republicans. The Democrats are a conservative party while the Republicans have shifted so far to the right that they are regressive, authoritarian, nationalist, xenophobic, corporatist, anti-democracy, etc. The Republicans are not amoral, they are immoral.
The big lie the extreme right tells the American people is that the Democrats are lefties. In Europe they would be center or even right of center, not even progressive in the least. They are very conservative and generally maintain the status quo. That includes everyone from Pelosi and Schumer to Obama, Biden, and the Clintons. Even Bernie Sanders, a Social Democrat, would not be considered left-of-center in Europe.
Universal healthcare and universal civil rights are not extreme left concepts. They would not even be considered mildly progressive in any western nation other than in the U.S. Obamacare, for instance, is just insurance that you pay out-of-pocket for with a government subsidy. In most similar nations, everyone has healthcare coverage without having to come up with a monthly payment equivalent to hundreds of dollars. Yet the Republicans act like it is equivalent to absolute communism. That's how brainwashed Americans are.
Sorry to continue the shift away from the original topic of trans rights in the UK, but the record needs to be set straight. The Democrats in the U.S. are not progressive, they are conservative, and they cannot be counted on to safeguard trans rights, but they are without a doubt better for civil rights than the Republicans, who want to control women's wombs, separate children from families and lock them in cages, deport Dreamers who have lived most of their lives in the U.S., discriminate against trans and gay people in the guise of religious freedom, and do away with social systems that help everyone including public schools, public hospitals, even public mail delivery, etc.

LOL, do you honestly believe the Dems are conservative and the Repbs are extreme far right?! FFS, you are insane.
In Europe, most countries are leftists. Scotland is tring to ban free speech, for example. It's illegal to talk about Mohamed fucing his wife when she turned 9 (married her when she was 6) according to EU law, despite claiming free speech is a human right in it's charter.
In the recent Senate hearing, not a single Dem was willing to condemn the volent "protesters". Nadler said Antifa is a myth.
Let's not forget Mad Maxine and her speeches demanding people harass and "push backk on" people anywhere and everywhere for working for Trump or supporting Trump.
Shifty Schiff still hasn't produced the "absolute proof" of Trump's Ruussian collusion.
It's show the mentality of the left that they keep talking about Trump and his death squads.
