      Hello Family,

I'm running into a little problem with this freaking Mac of DOOM! After 16 hours of fighting with it, I have successfully managed to obtain a full copy of the video files I need to create the first master DVD for the producer. The problem I'm now running into is that although I've managed to get the machine up and running on my network enough to access the internet, I'm now trying to get access to FTP in which I can upload. Here's where things take a little interesting twist.

This is no ordinary little Mac. It's an ancient dinosaur (though not as much as the Mac LC still running System 7) of a G3, with its resources maxed out at Mac OS 9.1… That's where I run into the problem. I cannot find a suitable FTP client that is compatable with Mac OS 9.1. Can anyone suggest either an FTP server program or FTP client program (preferred) that can be installed on Mac OS 9.1 so that I can FTP the video files over to my burning station to create the first DVD?

I'm hoping to have this done as quickly as possible as I'm running on a deadline both for the Post-Production timeline, as well as for the film festival for which this will be submitted. The biggest problem that I'm having is I haven't done FTP upload on a Mac since the days of System 7 (if you know your Mac products, you'll know that System 7 came out around the same time as Windows 95).

Thank You to anyone in advance for submitting their recommendations.

        Hi MrMazda  🙂
Im not into Mac, but I googled this :
"ftp client"  "compatable mac os 9.1"

It displayed several links, first of them in french (glad you know french)
        hXXp://forums.macgeneration.com/internet-et-reseau/exite-t-il-un-client-ftp-gratuit-pour-mac-os-9-1-a-38157.html

They're talking about a client program named "Fetch", which should be downloadable (after you create a free account)…well good luck if it works  🙂

I just read it's shareware with a 15 days trial period, it could be enough for your urgent upload.
Maybe Fetch  [4.0.3]  found in next link (compat OS 8/9) but not Fetch  [5.5.3] which works only with OS X :
        hXXp://telecharger.caloga.com/logiciel-mac-os-internet-ftp.html

So let's try to google on :
        "download Fetch 4.0.3"

        => Better news :
        hXXp://fetchsoftworks.com/fetch/download/

        then click on :
Download Fetch 4.0.3 – for Mac OS 9, Mac OS 8, System 7
        I downloaded it lol

Also the corresponding doc is downloadable :
        Supporting Documentation
        Fetch 4.0.3 – Help (PDF)

Free for 15 days, what to ask for more ?  🙂

Downloading it now… I hope this works.

I sure as hell don't want to have to file a freaking $3.5M insurance claim hehe
