Uploading 3 Things - site only says 2
-
Hi Guys
Earlier today I uploaded 3 Movies - They are seeding (slowly, that's a separate issue) but the site is only recognising 2 of them and the 3rd isn't even on my list of uploads. When i go to it, via search, it says there are no seeders ??? but its seeding in my utorrent
Only weird thing i did today was try a seedbox but I've since stopped that as I do not think I want it - but all 3 are in my normal utorrent program.. so weird
any suggestions ?

**just noticed that there are 15 leechers on this site but over 100 on my actual torrent.. think i will just start it again
UPDATE: I removed the torrent - then downloaded it from the site and pointed it to the file - seems correct on the site now but utorrent software still says higher numbers

Generally this happens when you're seeding the torrent with the .torrent file that you created to upload the torrent. After you upload the torrent, you need to remove it from your torrent program, then download a new .torrent file for it from the site to seed your content with. There is of course another back-door way to get around this, however it is rather cumbersome, so it's just easier to download the .torrent file from the site to use to seed your content.
Also, if your torrent client does not acknowledge that it has 100% of the contents of the torrent (even if it has 100% of what you've selected to download), the tracker will show you in a leeching state, even though your torrent client will say that you are seeding it. In this case though, I think the first reason would be the reason in your case.
Please be aware that your torrent client only updates with the tracker once every 30 minutes, therefore, you may see a delay in the stats updating on the site. Also, you should know that in a lot of torrent clients, if you stop the torrent in your torrent client before your client updates the stats with the tracker again, any data that you have transferred since the last time your torrent client updated with the tracker will be lost. Lastly, the numbers that you will see in your torrent client generally include any network overhead traffic, such as updating with the tracker, probing the peers, establishing a connection with the peer initially, etc. For this reason, you may notice that there is a little difference between what you see and what the tracker reports.
Depending on your operating system and torrent client, it may also be possible that your torrent client is registering in what I like to call "Chinese Megabytes". See, there are two standards. Windows (at least as far as Windows 7) measures in the true binary units. This means that 1 KB is counted as 1024 bytes, 1 MB as 1024 KB, etc., which is the way that the tracker measures the data. Linux and Mac users on the other hand, generally have their data measured in "Chinese Megabytes" (for lack of a better term), which counts 1 KB as 1000 bytes, 1 MB as 1000 KB, and so on. So… If you're using a torrent program that measures in "Chinese Megabytes", you will notice that the stats on the tracker will differ from what is reported in your torrent client, even though the total number of bytes being counted is the same.
For example:
1,739,462,910 bytes = 1,698,694.25 KB = 1,658.88 MB = 1.62 GB (the binary way)
VS
1,739,462,910 bytes = 1,739,462.91 KB = 1,739.46 MB = 1.74 GB (the "Chinese" way)So... It is important to know what method your torrent client and operating system are using. The easiest way to figure it out is to pay attention to the number of bytes and see how the numbers compare.

Thanks - will keep this in mind

Ongoing from this conversation - please see the attached snips
It shows that only a few have even looked at my torrent, on the site - but I have a vast number of peers on utorrent. Is this normal and related to the 30 minute intervals thing ?
The reason being is that my recent torrents have had over 200 dormant peers (in brackets means not on, I think?) but torrent upload hasnt had that many hits - so doesn't make sense to me
my fear is that somehow i have opened up my uploads to other sources - i have written to the seedbox company, asking them if this is how it works without screen shots etc - so i will wait, i guess

going to advanced > clear peer list seems to have reduced things - argghh so weird
