Star Wars Rogue One, stubbly hotties & possible male gay couple
-
I saw Rogue One. At first, the grimness and cynicism made me wonder if this was a proper part of the Star Wars franchise. What happened to the stunted dialogue?
But it blossomed into an awesome spectacle of futility where I cared so much for the characters because of the situation they were in. Possibly manipulative but very awesome. Loved it more than The Force Awakens.
Gay bits would be the hotness of Diego Luna, stubbly guy who i hated at first. It was the hapless Riz pilot I was quite fond of. I wanted the two facial haired fellows to lock lips and rut in a bunker somewhere. There's no shirtlessness but I thought the two smoldered, after I softened up to Diego's character. Riz, still pretty skinny since Jake Gyllenhaal's Nightcrawler but him, I loved.
I'm not sure about the stereotyping but mystical Ip Man and his cannon lugging friend could possibly be seen as more than just partners. Maybe. But I'll wait for Poe Damaron to kiss a guy first.

I really didn't pick up on any gay undertones in Rogue One, but I did love the movie. K-2SO was the absolute best.

As much as I appreciate it, I don't think Star Wars should have any gay couples (or any couples at all) unless it moves the story forward.
People complain about how films are whitewashed this, and insensitive that; being politically correct means nothing if it doesn't propel the story forward.
I apologize if that was off-topic.

This was the first Star Wars movie that I thought the politics and motivations made sense.
ie. Nasty bureaucrat who has no morality other than self-promotion makes more sense than someone being evil because 'Dark Side of the Force.'
I enjoyed looking at Diego Luna as an adult. He looks very good with some scruff.
I did think that the blind monk and his guardian came across as an old gay couple.

Supposedly there's a Canon lesbian couple around somewhere but I don't know, they're aliens anyway.
Do the blind not Jedi and his friend have fanfiction or fanart of them as lovers or are they not pretty enough for it? Poe Dameron has various gay fanart, haha.
Something I didn't buy was Jyn and Cassian holding hands as they died. It wasn't romantic, true, but they didn't have a deep enough connection for that.
(Btw there's a porn parody of Force Awakens already, hehe. Aspen as Poe and Welsey Woods as Kylo as a flip)

I waited a bit to see the movie, however not willingly (didn't have the time), and I really regreted it. I enjoyed the movie a lot, but it kinda ruined the experience for me because I saw a spoiler online about what ends up happening to all of the characters. Now, I know some people may have totally saw it coming, but it still just made me not get connected to the characters as well as usual, knowing their fate in the end. I don't know, maybe I'm just salty that I was saw a spoiler haha

Ah I get it. I connected the most to Bodhi Rook and K-2SO. I knew the non Jedi was going to die for sure, due to narrative structure but most of the deaths still hurt.
