Proper Settings For Optimul uTorrent Uploading?
-
I'm not new to downloading however I am new to uploading. I've actually been using vuze or utorrent for like 5 years but only once I join here have I begun actually sharing. Not just what I've uploaded but what I've downloaded as we. Previously when a movie would finish I'd delete it from utorrent & move the download & file it on an external drive. I switched to utorrent about a year ago when I got my new MacBook. Well a friend tweaked my settings to make it great for download but shitty for uploading. However I actually like uploading & sharing. I know how excited I can get when I find that one scene or movie I've looked everywhere for & then I found it. Now the idea I'm helping others feel that way makes me happy. Kinda sad but true. Back to my issue I'm wondering what the best settings to use for both optimal downloading and uploading. Currently it will upload but it fluctuates a lot especially at the very beginning in fact the other day when I uploaded a new video I noticed within just a few minutes of it starting the seeding process it just stopped and I couldn't get it to turn back on until I shut down you utorrent and started it back up. I've looked into my connection at its good I've seen it download 4.2m & upload up 1.30. So the since my connection is cool I figure it's gotta be the settings but I can't find anything to tell me what it should be. So I was hoping someone here could help. I'd ask the guy who made download faster but we don't speak so…yeah
Here's what I'm working with I'm not sure what all is needed so I'll give some basics
1.1 GHz Intel Core M
8GB 1600 MHz DDR3
I have OS X El Capitan 10.11.4I did a speed test on Internet
Ping: 26ms
Down: 38.23
Up: 11.27I'm using
Utorrent 1.8.7Also I'm constantly having to manually update the trackers for this site is that normal? I don't think it's me cause this site's torrent are the only ones I have too.
If there's anything else need let me know. Any help would be so appreciated
Thanks

About the only thing that's not setup by default is the port forwarding in your router. It is very important that you go into your settings to check what port that uTorrent uses. Once you have this, you need to forward that port in both TCP and UDP from your router to your computer. This will allow for optimal uploading results.

Although designed for Azureus, this calculator uses the same settings layout as μTorrent does and suggests what to enter based on your upload speed.
