Atheist, but with much sympathy for the Devil.
I'm also all into Paganism and The Church of Satan/LaVeyan Satanism

              😄 >:D >:D

Serious question now though, do you consider LaVeyan Satanism a religion?

I know that many people consider it one, even many LaVeyan Satanists themselves, but I don't really like calling it my "religion".
The reason is, LaVeyan Satanism is not theistic, it doesn't worship any deity/god/spirit(s) (as opposed to Theistic Satanism; the actual worship of Satan). It just uses Satan as a personification/metaphor of the perfect being, what any human should try to become. Satan was chosen specifically because on 90% of its views, atheistic Satanism goes against Christianity instead of other religions, thus the Christian personification of evil is used.

Since Atheism and all of its forms (including LaVeyan Satanism) are the negation/absence of belief in god(s), and since "religion" is defined as "an organized set of rules and morals coming from belief in some sort of deity", calling Atheism a religion is just an oxymoron. My alternative would be calling it a philosophical belief or simply a philosophy, since that's what it is really about (philosophy: (from Greek philo=like + sophia=wisdom); finding/appreciating wisdom on all its forms).

What do you think? ??? ???

ffuck, I don't think that's really important. One can argue for or against it - not all religions are theists. But as you asked, I tend to view LaVeyan Satanism and many other modern self proclaimed religions (such as the Flying Spaghetti Monster and the Jedi) as Anti-Religions; they are, basically, an ironical response for all evil that religion uses to cause the world. That's why some people call them 'mock-religions'.

Raised Catholic but as an adult, do not believe in organized religion at all.
