youtube.com/watch?v=wwIwZWMu2R0Thanks for the Royksöpp one, I've never heard it. I have just an album from this band, Senior, which is waaaaay darker and a bit depressive but at the same time time very interesting.
There's a hidden track at the end of the album, The Final Day, that still obsesses me after all these years that is about the last minutes of life of an old person, you can hear his last rales of suffering. Sick, hypnotic, disturbing and yet beautiful and meaningful.youtube.com/watch?v=wwIwZWMu2R0
And it's a good surprise to me that a 26-year-old guy like you listens to Pet Shop Boys, one of my favorite band! I thought anyone under 40 wouldn't be able to know them!
Not that excited on their last album Hotspot which comes to close a bit weakly the trilogy formed with the two previous ones Electric and Super who were great, efficient (and sometimes cheesy) electro.

My parents used to play this music (all music from the 80s) at home all the time, so I'm used to all these typical bands from the 80s and the 90s and actually I really like them!I agree: the last album is not very exciting… I'm not very fan of it. Nothing like "It's a sin" (one of my favorite songs of this band :))

I love the fact that parents are part of our musical education! My parents always played Kim Wilde, Whitney Houston and Lionel Richie cassettes in the car when I was a kid!
My favorite Pet Shop Boys songs from the 80's are Domino Dancing and It's Alright!

I remember my parents playing tapes and CDs with all these bands when we were travelling: my dad loves Depeche Mode and my mom adores The Cure, they love Joy Division, The Smiths, The Sisters of Mercy, Soft Cell, The Cranberries, Pink Floyd, Duran Duran and people like this… Some years after I compiled a CD with lots of compilations from those years and now when I go back home to visit them, that is one of the CDs they play a lot
