Post the last movie you've seen and how you rate it
-
Dev Patel and Nicole Kidman were on the latest Graham Norton Show BBC1 talking about the movie Lion
-
"Inferno"… totally overrated!
I rate it 6.5/10, it's definitely well made but they played way too safe, it gets boring easily.:true: _As I have read the book, I am disappointed with the way Ron Howard's interpret the ending.
-
In the book, Sienna did NOT die but was one of those trying to stop the "virus" from spreading and was later on hired by WHO in exchange for her amnesty
-
The "virus" in the book is not deadly but will cause 1/3 of the population to became sterile to stabilize the population growth
-
This is the only Robert Langdon character starrer wherein the dead villain succeeded coz Robert Langdon's group is a day or 2 late in stopping the virus (book) In the movie the virus (which will supposed to kill people) was contained.
-
The dead villain is not a villain at all but somewhat an unconventional genius who planned a solution for over population problem_
6/10

That would be Anthropoid and I rate it 7/10 ( I 'm along imdb rate for once ) which is a very high rate for me ( I rate most movies around 2 -4 at best).

That's about the assassination of the butcher of Praha during WW2.
-
Rogue One, and it is awesome!
-
_A black comedy set during the aftermath of the Cronulla riots, it is the story of two carloads of hotheads from both sides of the fight (1 group of White Australian and the other group, of Muslim origin living in Australia) destined to collide
There is a gay scenario here but this film is not gay themed
6/10_

-
Pompoko (Studio Ghibli) 8/10
-
Sixteen candles (1984), 4/10
-
Carry On Up the Jungle. 6/10. Campy fun.
-
The Great Wall. Critics and others alike may say this movie is unsatisfying, but I find it quite thrilling and enjoyable. 7.5/10
-
Just watched Pitchfork.
Weird/10 (2/10)
The critics are right, is a mesh mash and tries to fill several niches so it seems weird. Also, lots of loopholes. The End was…ugh.
At least the gay protagonist made it to the end...until his sister went full Ginger Snaps.
Acting? Is an effin' horror movie! D:<
-
I saw La La Land today and loved it.

Holding the man - very powerful performance.

Your Ginger Snaps reference made me curious, haha
I looked at the trailer and saw IMDb which listed the name of the Pitchfork killer. I don't suppose I could get a spoiler on what the deal is?
The Pitchfork killer with his bare chest is kinda sexualized actually.

Well, considering the killer is an able-bodied youth in contrast to the usual deranged creature we are used to…yep, is pretty sexual..
Too bad that any 'sexual' context there is heterosexual.
Spoiler? Ok...
Gay dude Hunter returns home from New York in order to tell his (hot) dad that he is gay. In tow are his friends from NY in order to provide support.
(Hot) dad begrudgingly agrees, while the gang makes a barn dance. That Night, Pitchfork enters the house kills mom & dad and kidnaps the little sister. Then proceeds to kill every member of the gang until only Hunter and his friend Claire remain. They manage to survive, free the sister and everything seems dandy, they even 'hanged' Pitchfork.
So they are all walking on the road when Pitchfork comes running towards them...END SPOILER
LOL...just remember what happened to Ghost and Violet at Ginger Snaps' ending...kinda like that.

Fantastci Beast 8

siREN (8/10)
Based on one of the anthologies within V/H/S (which I haven't seen, btw). Entertaining enough, paranormal enough. Monster is a female which is kinda refreshing. Decent special effects without overuse of them. Hero is cute, his best friend is even cuter (IMHO). Decent and interesting mythos rolling in the background for maybe a TV series.
If you are wondering why Siren instead of Succubus (what the monster is stated to be) she can sing to paralyze her target or induce erotic visions/memories for a mega orgasm (as the hero experienced).
Extra points for tail-trasforming-into-dildo-for-male-orgasm-during-heterosexual-intercourse.
Points taken because no-baby-succubii/incubii-popping-out-from-the-male-protagonist.
Styria/Curse of Styria (7.5/10)
Loosely based in Sheridan Le Fanu's Carmilla. Enough references to the short novel, but you won't find the typical fanged vampires here. Development between the female leads feels kinda rushed, but still enjoyable. Pretty mild lesbianism. Mixed reviews can led you astray, make your own opinion.
Lazslo More as a very minor character was the only eye candy I needed, I swear.

Agree with these 2 observations although, personally, I would only rate it as 6/10
