American and to some degree, british pop music is awful. At least the mainstream music. There are so many amazing pop musicians, that get overshadowed by rubbish like Rihanna and J.Lo. Sad situation.

Like everything in this world, nothing is last forever, except the alteration itself. There is a rise and there is a fall. So, if pop music has it lowest popularity at this moment, doesn't men its dead. Who knows, years to come, pop music will have its crown again.

Of course its still music, its just evolved.  Artists like Tove Lo, Adam Lambert and Cheryl are making good use of the newer style.  Don't be so negative.
