Unregisted torrents?
-
I downloaded 1 file some time ago, along with others. The other torrents are seeding fine. But that one torrent shows as "Unregistered torrent". Why does this happen? Any way to fix it?

It often means it's been deleted. Have you searched the torrent list to see if it is still here ?
PS I think that is the post for 1000 forum bonus points for me

Ugh! Since I have the file, is there a way I can upload it again by myself? (not sure how I'd do that, but…)

If you've done a thorough search and can find not trace of the original post (check dead torrents as well) then there is nothing stopping you uploading it again.
If you mean you're not sure how to upload in general, it is really quite simple (especially after the first one).
Create a torrent using your usual torrent client. You can put anything in the tracker box, see picture.
Find a picture to upload
Go to upload page, Choose category, upload picture, give the torrent a name (that's the title that appears in the torrent list), add description, add your torrent file, post your torrent. IMPORTANT - after you have uploaded your torrent, download your file, the one you've just posted and open it as you would any other EXCEPT point your client to the same file you created it from. Client will then check the file and start seeding.
See I told you it was easy.
And if it is your first post here claim your 600 bonus points

…so the .torrent file I currently have is useless; I need to start over as if the file had never been uploaded to the site. Yes?

From reading your other message it would seem the torrent has been deleted probably for copyright reasons. While there is nothing to stop you posting the torrent again it is likely that it would get deleted again and you would have wasted (most of) your time.
As long as you weren't the original poster you can post the torrent. The original poster will have been told why the torrent was deleted and the staff take a dim view if that poster tries to repost the same deleted torrent.

Thanks for answering my other post. No, this was just a general question about the Unregisted Torrent situation and trying to confirm that I understand it.

Reasons why a torrent may go "unregistered" (deletion from tracker) include:
#1 DMCA takedown from confirmed copyright claim
#2 Identified as a duplicate
#3 Failure of an upload to be initially seeded to completion after about 1 week
#4 Removal due to inclusion of banned material or claim of underage performersOccasionally the tracker itself becomes disconnected due to server/technical issues, but this will affect all torrents in a torrent client, not just one or two.
