Broken file?
-
I just finished downloading https://www.gaytorrent.ru/details.php?id=12bcc4959935a0d900817155660e56c576733138a27de74c
However, the message I get when I try to open the file is
"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file."
It's an mp4, so I'm thinking the file must be damaged somehow. Any suggestions? -
I haven't got that file but over 100 people have without a problem it seems.
The first thing you should try is another movie player. I use Media Player Classic Home Cinema as my default.
Then try VLC
If you are still having problems, ask again and someone else may have a suggestion

That seemed to do the trick. Thanks! It's odd that it won't open on windows media player. Haven't seen that before.

I have run into that from time to time… Even in Linux you have the same issue... Most files will play flawlessly in VLC, but there's the odd one here and there that I run into that just will NOT play properly in VLC. Sure enough, if I open those particular files in Totem instead, they work just fine.
My guess would be that it's something in the encoding of the video itself that WMP just cannot work with properly.
