Angel Rock, born and raised in Cuba, started in the porn industry shortly after he turned 18. Like many young men living the life of an adult film star, Angel Rock got his start dancing in the club scene. After encouragement from friends and patrons, Angel found a management company and entered into a contract with the popular JetSetmen.com. Mark’s List recently spoke with Angel Rock about his life in the adult film industry, some of his favorite co-stars, what he does to stay fit, what he looks for in a relationship and some of his upcoming projects.
What was your experience like the first time you shot a nude scene in front of all the cameras and crew?
It was kind of crazy, but exciting at the same time. I knew it would be the beginning of a long journey. The adrenaline was running through my body all the time. Thank God I got to work with Jason Michaels; he's a super cool Brazilian guy who helped me relax and feel comfortable in front of the camera and production crew through the filming of the scene.
Do you have a favorite scene or scene partner?
Yes, I do have a favorite scene and favorite partner. It’s from my latest film with Jetsetmen.com called “Anthony’s Weener” where I got to work with Lucky Daniels. He is the one of the coolest and comfortable guys to work with. The chemistry we had during the shoot was something really sensational and I think you can see that in the film. We even got to marry each other in NYC in this film.
Are you more of a top or a bottom? Do you have a preference during filming?
Personally, I consider myself a vers/top guy in my private life. When it comes to work, I feel comfortable performing as a top only.
Who are some of your favorite adult film actors or other performers you would like to work with?
Brent Everett is definitely one of my favorites, although we do not know each other personally. It would be super exciting to work with him. Other actors I would like to work in the future are Marc Dylan & Marcus Mojo—they are really hot.
You’re obviously comfortable being naked in front of other people. Were you always like that, or did it take some time to get used to?
Appearance is everything in life. I never thought about doing anything with adult content until I was 18 years old. I always saw the industry as something that wasn’t for me. I've always liked to be around cameras as a trained actor and model, but it never crossed my mind posing nude for some sort of visual. It's something that I gradually adapted to. The support from my fans has also made me feel comfortable in my job. Today, I have no shame to undress in front of a camera.
What do you do to keep your body so fit? What are some of your workout tips?
Well I try to work out five to six times a week. I do Abs every day and cardio is always an important part. I constantly challenge my body to lift more weight and do more repetitions.
Is it difficult to have a relationship in the industry you work in? Is jealousy an issue?
I used to think it wasn’t hard, but now I think the opposite. It can all depend on your partner, though. Not everyone knows how to separate one thing from the other. Having a relationship with someone depends a lot on communication and trust on both sides. It’s definitely hard and jealousy will always be an issue.
What do you look for in a relationship?
I seek to grow as a person. I look for someone who sympathetic, loving, intelligent and has life goals.
Can you tell us something about yourself that many people don’t know?
Something people do not know about me is that I like to sleep on the right side of my bed hugging my pillow. I also pray every night before go to bed, and I fall asleep listening to Pandora [laughs].
Do you want to keep making adult films? Would you venture into directing or talent scouting?
I’ll keep doing movies for now. Working behind the scenes is something I like the most, and I'm sure that in the future people will know more about me as a director.
In addition to adult films, what are some of the other projects you are working on?
Yes, new projects are on the way. As for adult entertainment, I'm very happy to be working with Howard from FabScout. He is a genius and has tremendous experience in the field. As for other projects, I am in talks for a new Web show, but I don't want to reveal too much just yet. Stay tuned.
