Philip Seymour Hoffman vs. Heath Ledger
-
Complete question…
In 2005, at the 78th Academy Awards ceremony, two actors earned a Best Actor in a Leading Role Oscar nomination for playing a homosexual character; a first time in Oscar history. Heath Ledger and Philip Seymour Hoffman (who ended up winning the Oscar)
Both received critical acclaim, both considered equally powerful and moving performances.
Which performance do you think is the best?
-
I haven't seen Capote but Heath Ledger would probably get my vote anyway
-
You should see the movie… It was a bold performance from Hoffman and I think his best acting in his film career.
Its sad that two great actor no longer with us anymore... They had similar case, terrible way to die... OD... :cry2:
-
Philip Seymour Hoffman was by far the better actor of the 2.
That being said, BrokeBack Mountain was the better movie.
-
Heath Ledger wins by default for me (I haven't seen Capote). I think he did a great job anyway.
-
That's tough. Hoffman's performance was showier whereas Ledger's was naturalistic (oddly enough, that Catherine Keener's performance was so naturalistic is probably why she didn't win for her role in Capote). I have to go with Hoffman for this one, but just by a smidgen.

Iris have to go with Roger and Brokeback Mountain even their property was a man magnificent film
