A few people on here recently discussed that they were using this. I've been on about a month and am experiencing dropped connection, often overnight, and it never connects again. Several approaches were offered by tech staff, which seem to work for awhile and then conk out. If it drops this often, it's useless. These are the solutions offered. I'd be curious as to how people are doing with this service, or others they might be using, thanks.
1. Click on our icon in the System Tray or Menu Bar
2. Click on Settings
3. Click on Advanced
4. Change the remote port to 9201 or 1194 or 8080 or 53 (1194 is default)
5. Change the local port to 53
6. Save and then Disconnect.
7. Reconnect
8. If this does not help, please go back to the Advanced Settings
9. Change the protocol to TCP
10. Change the remote port to 443 or 110 or 80
11. Leave the local port blank.
12. Save and then Disconnect.
13. Reconnect. -
At first I had some connection problems where it wouldn't connect at all eventually.
On a Mac the fix was to add a specific file to the firewall and allow all connections.
From Finder select Go -> Go to Folder -> enter /private/tmp
Open the firewall and drag the file pia_openvpn to the rules area and "Allow incoming connections".That fixed the my problem and PIA has been working great for me ever since.
Maybe a similar fix will work for Windows?

Right now I have about three pages saved in Word of various solutions such as changing ports, purging DNS, etc. I really want the thing to work. I thought there was a connection with my EaseUs backup that runs every Sunday night, but there isn't. I really want them to work and their tech support is excellent.

Maybe try testing by stopping your firewall if you use one. If that works, then you can find the correct file to add and allow.
I found my fix on the PIA forum after doing several searches. Try looking there, and if you can't find anything start a thread.
Hopefully you can get it fixed, it's a good service. They should add a bit more info for such fixes in their client support area/FAQ so they're easily visible. -
I do control L in the port area (a blank) when it shuts down, it automatically sends a log error report then I tell them what the # is. Tx for advice.

No prob.
I wonder what they'd have had me do if I couldn't have fixed my problem myself, and I wonder if they even know about that fix. :-
I'll write them when I get a chance (and remember -lol). You should do the same if you ever find out what's up with your connection.
There has to be some other people who have the same problem as you. -
wondering if thats a free vpn or a paid service?
-
Pretty close to free if you pay for a whole year at once, $3.33/mo $39.95/yr.
Totally worth it IMO, it's been working great for me.
For the price, it offers a lot of features. -
I find PIA to be speedy and consistent; however, when I'm connected, uTorrent's reports of the data I upload don't make it to the gaytorrent.ru server. It's strange because everything seems to work perfectly except that. Does anyone know a fix for this?

Removing Comodo Firewall was the solution I was looking for.
Here's a still active page that I'm sure PIA doesn't know is still up that I'm using to get the service even cheaper:
