Back in the days, you used to be able to see the name of the uploader, what was the reason to have all the usernames be hidden? I remember finding torrents that I like, then looking through the uploader's torrent list for more of the same kind of video.

This was a security measure implemented to protect our users.

As you can see from the poll on the home page, there are thoughts to reverse this.
I hope it will be let to the choice of the uploader to show his account name or not. From the questions on the Helpdesk, we know some uploader would like to show their account name.

any news on the "anonymous" front?
It's really quite annoying for me for 2 reasons
- i am working on monthly collections and users can't just click y username to see the rest of my torrents
- when i find a torrent i really like, especially the remastered ones its near impossible to find more of their content
please make this atleast allow changing to show
ideally default show username with global option to hide. -
I would second that, having the option, I mean. I was just saying to someone the other day that when you see a crap upload you don't know if it's a first timer who needs a helping hand or a crap uploader who really needs help!!
And you can get to know uploaders whose quality you can trust
