Apple Pork
-
4 people
Ingredients:
12 light salted, not too thinly sliced bacon (Pork Strips?)
6 large tart cooking apples
Sugar to tasteMethod:
Fry the bacon crisp in a dry pan and let it drip off the fat absorbent paper. They can also be roasted in the oven, if you prefer.
While the bacon cooks, peel and take out the apple cores, and cut them into wedges. The fat from the bacon is poured off, but little is left in the pan, and herein you fry the apples untill they begin to collapse.
How much or how little is a matter of taste. Season to taste with sugar. They should be neither too acidic or too sweet.Apples and pork served warm with rye bread.

I made this dish
From the picture of Newmale's dish, I decided that the best local product to use was a good quality Bacon that I can get in the one meat market around here. They slice it to order and it is really"Smoked Pork Belly" which is Bacon but this is not the long strips like commercial pre-sliced Bacon. It is shorter in length than that kind of Bacon.
:announce: It was **Fabulous!!!
