Vuze/Azureus not keeping Seeding Fix
-
Where you find the settings to avoid uploaded torrents stopping seeding, click on the triangeles to expand groups of setting:
This is a known issue with Vuze/Azureus out of the box setting and our tracker having Scrape switched off.
Use these settings instead:
Tools –> Options... –> Queue –> Seeding –> First Priority –> A share ratio under [1:1], set the rest to ignore and uncheck Torrents with 0 PeersTools –> Options… –> Queue –> Seeding –> Ignore Rules –> uncheck Ignore torrents with 0 peers
as well the following setting:
Tools –> Options… –> Queue –> Seeding –> Auto Starting –> Auto Start all completed torrents with 0 peers selected in my options.That option should make new torrents start.

Yeah i have definatly adjusted all those options suggested ages ago but still no luck
For example a torrent i recently downloaded fully and plays fine but
Has the blue face symbol, the status says seeding but nothing seems to be uploading as the speed stays on zeros, as does the amount seeded.It does this with all the full torrents i have downloaded off this site, its just weird as other non gaytorrent.ru torrents sit there and seed fine

Hmm … I am seeing you seeding only one torrent, which got many seeds for a few downloader and on that you seem to get you fair share (which is low).
Perhaps you should start (force start) some of the others in your Profile with 1/1, 2/1, 3/1 or 6/1 seed to leech ratio.

Have you tested this for many hours on end Uwe?
I can't remember the settings I recommended now, but it seems eventually no settings work past 3 hours.
I swear old versions of Azureus used to work here with no problem. It's what I used when I first switched to Mac back in 2006.
Maybe Tom made some changes to the tracker and I never noticed because I moved on to another torrent client by then, or maybe something changed in a newer version of Azureus.Another user came up with some settings, but he never replied to my post asking if the kept on working. He made some additional settings.
http://forum.gaytorrent.ru/index.php?topic=13326.0A lot of people have problems with Vuze here jezzeruk because our tracker doesn't support scrapes. Vuze relies on scrapes too heavily. It scrapes, gets the scrape error, puts the torrent in a queued but not connected to any peers state (blue icon), scrapes again, and repeats and never does a tracker update to get a peers list.
From my other post;
@VuzeWiki:When a torrent is complete, Azureus periodically scrapes in order to determine which torrents are the neediest. Without scraping, Azureus would never know which torrents have no seeds and require assistance.

Unless something changed, it seems the only solution (which really isn't a good one) is to use forced seeding. I never got around to trying beercan's settings though.
@VuzeWiki:
Please note that some trackers don't respond to scrape requests, but you will still be able to download the torrent. The returned information can contain such information as, whether the tracker is OK or offline, the reason it is offline (unknown host exception, hash missing, etc), the numbers of peers and seeds, etc.
It says you can still download, but nothing about seeding or being able to which seems accurate so far.
@VuzeWiki:
While a torrent is incomplete, Azureus scrapes in order to determine whether or not to send an announcement requesting more peers. Sending a list of peers is usually more bandwidth-consuming than sending a scrape result.
Scrape, scrape, scrapes, and never a tracker update.

Well, there is as well the following setting:
Tools –> Options… –> Queue –> Seeding –> Auto Starting –> Auto Start all completed torrents with 0 peers selected in my options.That option should make new torrents start.

Thanks very much for these Vuze settings recommendations, Popper!!!
