I recently received an cease and desist letter based on my I P showing up in the peers listing. As a result I've been researching ways to change or hide my I P. There is a lot out there to wade through. Proxies, paid VPN, and seedboxes. Lots of opinions, advice, and warnings. Some web sites I found very helpfull were:

      hxxp://myvpnreviews.com/
      hxxp://torrentfreak.com/
      hxxp://filesharefreak.com/
      hxxp://www.vpnreviews.com/

And this one that shows exactly where your I P is located.

      hxxp://www.findmyipaddress.com/

I've found a wide range of prices from cheap to expensive and a wide ranges of services to go with those prices. I've also found that each provider treats P2P just a little differently. I've read lots of TOS's to find one that would suite me.

I have stopped my torrent application until I make my final decision. I'm strongly leaning toward this provider:

      hxxp://www.tuvpn.com/index.php?ln=en

Has anyone else done research into this issue

You need a VPN, of course.

I can't vouch for any of the VPN services, marky. But Relakks ( hXXp://www.relakks.com/ ) is cheap at just € 45,00 for 12 months. Relakks is located in Sweden, so it will not give you access to Hulu videos (should you happen to be outside the USA). But it will do a fine job of hiding your IP address and encrypting your torrent traffic.

Another one to look at is Happy VPN ( hXXp://www.happy-vpn.com/ ). Happy VPN is unique in that it can be configured to give you access to both USA-only video sites (like Hulu) and UK-only sites (like the BBC).
