Project Gutenberg and Open Library are two of the larger ones for books in the public domain.
I also come to GTRU for Asian ebooks. Whoever the uploader is / are does a fantastic job with the Asian porn magazines.
And if you're a member of Gay-Torrents.net, there was an uploader who uploaded several thousand academic / research papers and ebooks.
