PUBLISHER: Dreamspinner Press! BOOK REVIEW from rainbow-reviews.com:
"Bonds of Love" is the follow up story to "Impacted" by Mickie B. Ashling. When the new story picks up the two men have been together nearly a year, are opening a dental practice of their own with friend Suzie, and are planning on moving in together. For all intents and purposes everything should be going fine, but the author uses this time to throw in little issues that at times leave the men feeling confused, angry, and on occasion jealous. Even as Robin and Scott handle the various problems that seem to pop up, they also continue to grow as individuals and as a couple allowing the readers to see the love they hold for each other. That the sex between these two is going to be hot is a given, however, it is the authors ability to bring them to life that draws the reader in and forces them to care about these two men.
! Three other couples show up in "Bonds of Love," there is Susie and her new sub Adrian, Robin’s mom Denise and David, Scott’s grandfather. Finally, there is Jenna and Ron, both of whom readers are sure to remember from the last book. Although this story centers on Robin and Scott the actions of the other couples affect the men’s lives as well. Those who have read Impacted are sure to love "Bonds of Love" especially as old truths become lies and new truths are revealed.
! This was one book I had to read in one sitting. While I loved "Impacted," I found "Bonds of Love" absolutely wonderful.TITLE: Cutting Cords

PUBLISHER: Dreamspinner Press! BOOK REVIEW from rainbow-reviews.com:
The blurb says that both boys are suffering and that is an understatement. Sloan has body image issues but he also has no coping skills when he is under stress, emotionally hurt or agitated. He resorts to extreme measures to help take away his inner pain for short periods of time. Demons ride him mercilessly in the guise of lower than low self-esteem. The way Sloan deals with his problems was very unique and really gave the book a fresh feel. Sloan is facing both physical and emotional pain constantly.
! Cole has his own issues with going blind. Not only does he have to come to terms with it, so does everyone in his life. Unfortunately, not everyone resolves issues the same way. Some ignore it, others bury it and still others push and push. Cole has to find a way to accept his fate and still balance how he wants to be perceived by those around him. Deciphering how all the people in his life are willing or unwilling to move forward with him on his own terms means Cole must make some hard decisions.
! If that weren't enough for Cole it’s still a lot on his plate. However, after Sloan moves in he now must deal with repressed sexual desires that are just as difficult for Cole to accept as his blindness. Cole is facing both physical and emotional uncertainty constantly.
! Sloan and Cole do not communicate there problems with each other well. They exasperate the situations they are in by their reluctance to share. They fear to emotionally bond further than the hot passionate sex that explodes between them when they let their attraction to each other slip its boundaries.
! I loved this book. Sloan and Cole are both very damaged boys in completely different ways that come together and really heal each other. The book takes twists and turns that could have led the boys down completely different paths away from each other. As we follow along it actually isn’t always clear if they shouldn’t follow different paths until we get to the real emotional connection they finally make to each other. Together they face their demons, their families and the world.Loving Edits

Paul is an editing genius. His touch on manuscript can instantly catapult an author to bestsellerdom. His talent has brought him wealth and all the luxuries money can buy but it cost him, Mick, the love of his life. The two friends discovered their sexuality as young teens and became involved in an intense romance but things went sour when Mick’s book hit the bestseller list and he was offered a movie deal. Paul allowed jealousy and other uncomfortable emotions to rule him and broke it off in an ugly way. It’s a decision he’s always regretted.
! Heart-broken Mick left town without looking back and found solace and healing in the arms of a handsome athlete named Tono. The two fell into a deeply committed relationship and have been together for the last seven years. Now Mick must call on Paul to ask him a huge favor. Tono has a written a novel about his love for Mick and Mick wants him to be successful and find peace. And if it sounds like I’m skirting around the real reason behind the importance of Tono’s book it’s because I am. It’s a huge devastating spoiler.
! Paul is a very spoiled man, bordering on unlikable and of course, when he sees Mick again he decides he wants him to himself and refuses to help his lover complete his novel. He’s used to having everything go exactly his way and isn’t dealing well with the situation placed at his feet but he eventually agrees because of his love for Mick. Tono despises Paul, with good reason; while Paul resents Tono because of the deep love he and Mick share. Despite their intense feelings neither can deny the attraction that simmers between them. What follows is a complicated, sexy and heart-wrenching romance between the three men that will make you laugh and sob your heart out. I’m so glad I stuck it out, even though I admit I nearly gave up after reading the first few never-ending pages consisting of the “life and times of a selfish man named Paul”.
! There is sex, and a lot of it between these three, but their relationship is about much more than the sex and the complications involved in a ménage. I refuse to spoil it by revealing too much and will only say the relationship is one of healing and desperation and soul deep undying love. And Paul finally learns that the world doesn’t revolve around his lovely self! This is one love story that won’t easily be forgotten by me.TITLE: Impacted

! BOOK REVIEW from rainbow-reviews.com:
Impacted, Mickie B. Ashling's latest release from Dreamspinner Press, takes the reader into the world of BDSM. Although the book is not saturated in the world, the scenes she does write are intense, leaving the reader wanting more. Scott, a submissive who has been in and out of the closet most of his life, and Robin, a strong Dom who is proud of who he is and hates the idea of going into the closet for any reason, are perfect for each other.
! The two struggle not only in the building of their new relationship but also from having to hide their true natures from their boss who is a homophobic, religious fanatic. There is also a thick layer of angst throughout the story which is understandable and only gets worse before it gets better. All in all I found this a very interesting story and will most likely read it again. -
About the author
Mickie B. Ashling began writing stories about men who love men around the time she discovered Queer as Folk in 2002. The characters on that show intrigued her, and ground-breaking writers such as Patricia Nell Warren inspired her. She began to write the kind of stories that she enjoyed reading, spurred on by her muse, who really has this thing for hunky men getting it on.
Mickie has lived in different parts of the world but currently resides in a quiet suburb outside Chicago. She's a full-time office manager who dreams of quitting her day job soon so she can devote her time and energy doing what she loves best-writing love stories about gay men searching for that special someone we all deserve.
Writing is her passion, but traveling is a close second. New York City, Barcelona, and San Francisco are favorite cities she returns to as often as possible. Meeting new people, hearing back from readers, and snacking on M & M's are some of her guilty pleasures.
