      TORONTO, Ont. - A gay couple has spoken out after some of their neighbours thought a church group was targeting their home in the Dundas Street East and Greenwood Avenue area over the weekend because of their sexual orientation.

      They said a video posted on YouTube distorts the truth (see video below).

      The couple said the church members chose to read the Bible on the sidewalk in front of their house simply because there's a fire hydrant there, preventing any cars from parking in the spot.

      The men said they've never felt personally targeted and have never heard anyone say anything homophobic, and suggested the neighbours who confronted the parishioners overreacted.

      The neighbour who filmed the alleged confrontation now said he did not personally hear anything homophobic and just assumed they were attacking the same sex couple.

      Neighbourhood comes together and kicks out religious haters.

        @leatherbear:

        This makes no sense whatsoever.  Why would a group of people pick a section of sidewalk to stop and read their bibles that just happens to be coincidentally located outside of a gay couple's home?

        Who chooses a sidewalk to read their bible if they aren't trying to preach or protest?

        And that fire hydrant excuse is just bizarre.  If you're just standing on the sidewalk, why would it matter if there were cars parked near you on the road?  It's not as if you're in the road so why would parked cars even be a factor?

              well… i can and do understand concerns of various God believers, but they always should ask first if the people living there are willing to listen .. this is also what Bible {Jesus} says and suggests .. with this their approach, the only thing they reach, is another / further denial of God...
