@lawyer72us Yeah same problem as for me, dunno how to solve it.
-
[6881 - 6889] torrent default port ...
In qbittorrent/Toolbar > point on Tools/Options/Connection [Random] ...
Apply/OK ...
In utorrent/Toolbar > point on Options/Preferences/Connection [Random] ...
Apply/OK ...
or Setup Guide/Run tests ...
This test will verify your router settings and highlight any configuration issues ... -
@john32123666 Thank you! I have randomized the ports (in Vuze) but it still does not work.
-
@lawyer72us do not randomize the port on start up leave [uncheck] ...
port should range from 6881 to 6889 ...
[10000-] should be remove 65535 is OK ... -
@john32123666 Thank you. I have changed the port to 6889 but the problem persists. It also seems that there are no seeds but this is odd - even when I am trying to download torrents with hundreds of seeders (according to the frontpage)
-
For now try to uninstall and reinstall your client and see if it works and save your settings ... [do a web-search]
and If it doesn't ...you should write to helpdesk:

As you can see from your own print, those are all torrents with very few seeders (one or two) and they are all refusing to connect to you. That might be due to some weak setting on your side or it might be your own client blocking the connection due to weak settings on theirs. Either way, your best luck is to freeleech smaller ones with your own seedbonus and ask a mod to freeleech the ones you can't afford as they are in line with the freeleech program that aims to revive old torrents.
In cases like this freeleeching creates a high demand so the seeder are more likely to connect to at least one leecher who will, therefore, be able to seed to you and others.

I've had this issue for the third time now, the previous two times I had it, it randomly fixed itself. It would be nice to know how to actually fix this bug though.

In your recent post you say that one should use a port in "range from 6881 to 6889 ... [10000-] should be remove 65535 is OK ...". I don't get how you get how port 65535 to be in range 6881 - 6889 by adding or removing 10,000. Maybe it is not so important that I understand this.However. what is important for me is whether GTRU needs the port to be in the range 6881-6889? I am not aware of why else these needs to be so. I am not pretending to be any sort of expert, just asking. I noted a previous post where it was said that the GTRU tracker is very sensitive as to ports.

@nix54 [6881 - 6889] is the default port for most torrent client ...
However an automatic random port is already provided in your client ...
You can only change or modify its values if you're having any connectivity issues ...or do a web search - "default port in torrent" ...

@john32123666
Ok Thank you. I have done a websearch as suggested and it seems the range you is for bitorrent - qbittorrent has no specific requirement but 'preferably 49160 to 65534'. No information as to why 'preferably'.
My router is recognising the ports I am using t with PnP enabled. However, a week or so ago I manually set the ports up and there does seem to be some (marginal but may be imaginary) improvement. -
@john32123666
Apologies please read "the range you quoted" for "the range you".
