I've used other VPNs in the past but switched to Nord because it is supposedly one of the most secure. I feel like I'm not able to upload and connect to peers as much as I could with other VPNs like PIA. I've tried optimizing all sorts of settings in qBittorent and on my system and looked at various sources for guidance. Has anyone else had this experience with NordVPN?

@jjazz44 This is likely because Nord doesn't support proper port forwarding (at least not on all of their servers) that I am aware of. In order to get proper upload traffic, you need to have the port your torrent client uses forwarded through your VPN both in TCP and UDP in order to get proper upload traffic. This is likely the cause of your issue while using NordVPN.

@jjazz44 Eight months ago I installed NordVPN and it totally blocked my torrenting client Transmission. I wrote to them and got a quick answer saying that they don't implement port-forwarding “for security reasons” but that they seriously think about it for the future…
I then asked for a refund, which I obtained some days later.
