Yesterday I attempted a freeleech download of a Triga films siterip.

It was apparently a popular torrent because there were at least 50 peers according to my download program. I could only make contacts with about 4 of them from what I recall and so the download speed never exceeded around 50K.

I gave up on the torrent because the freeleech would have expired long before the download could finish. To the best of my knowledge there was no bandwidth limitation on my end. Why does something like this happen? I'm just curious.

      Thank you.

I have noticed that even when I am the only seeder and there are leechers I don't get connections automatically.  I have to stop the torrent and start it in order for it to connect.  I'm not sure why this happens.

Since it is a siterip it could also be that the peers in the swarm did not download all of the files.  I often will pick and choose.

The answer is a bit more patience

          Most torrent clients prioritize

          1. downloads
          2. seeding
          3. other tasks, including responding to new clients

Further clients give higher priority to clients that

          1. have given data
          2. can give data

This means it can take some time before you get a complete block (for the Triga torrent the block size is 4mb).

As soon you have some blocks complete you can seed to other downloaders and climb up the priority ladder.

The torrent is still free leech, so give it a try. Give the things you want higher priority in your client. Make sure to stop when freeleech ends not to ruin your ratio.
