Torrents removed way too early without explanation.
-
Yesterday, I saw a torrent for a Ridder Rivera collection that I was very interested in. It contained 26 video's at a total of 28.1 GB.
I like the guy and although there were a few vids I already had there were a number I hadn't got and this seemed to be the perfect chance to get some more of the guy.
Now I am finding that this is happening more and more on this site and it is upsetting.
I'm not in a location with great internet connections, but I can get a decent speed. It varies a lot but I can get at times 1.1GB/s at times but this can be as low as 0.1 kB/s. We don't all live where 6 or 10GB/s works constantly.
Today, having kept my computer all night and after 10 hours downloading, The torrent had stopped . Nothing and for the last 13 hours - nothing - Zilch. I looked at at the list of torrents and did a search and the torrent is not there- it's been removed, taken down, banned who knows what. I stood no chance of getting all the torrent that I wanted. This is happening more and more and I get no explanation as to why the torrent has disappeared. I got just a handful of the torrents I was looking for and expected.
Why is this happeneing so often.

If the torrent is remove due to copyright violation, there is nothing you can do,
Unless it is reposted and resume your downoad ...
Once a torrent is remove there are no details for further explanation ...
[The uploader can only be notified for alleging copyright infringement notice] ...
see: https://www.gaytorrent.ru/dmca.php
W/c this topic is no longer or not allowed to discuss here ...Regarding of upload/download speed; that 0.1kB/s speed is unacceptable that of 28.1 GB in size ...
It mike take 10 years or not even ...
[W/c is why torrent is deleted by [OP/otions] due to connectivity issues] ...BANDWIDTH/Upload Speed:
ex: .01 kbps - 1kbps upload speed [unacceptable] = very poor connection due to multiple torrents running ...
10kbps - 20kbps / acceptable [slow connection] ...
20kbps - 40kbps / Good [low connection] ...
80kbps - 100kbps [medium or normal] standard ...
250kbps -500kbps [high speed] fast ... [seedbox/networking speed] ...
1mbps+ and up super speed ... [seedbox/networking speed] ...For many users, uploading files is quite a bit slower than downloading files.
This is usually normal, because most high-speed Internet connections, including cable modems and DSL,
are asymmetric — they are designed to provide much better speed for downloading than uploading. -
You said this is happening more and more, I don't get exactly what you're referring to, you're saying it's common for torrents to disappear while you're downloading? Because no, the odds are very low.
The torrent could have been removed not long after you started downloading, so it becomes unregistered in the tracker and all information about who has the files and who's downloading is lost. But it would be very unlucky of you to have this happened more than once, specially in a small frametime.
Since it's a <30GB torrent, which is quite large, you should check your ratio before starting the download, because if your ratio goes bellow 1 while you're in the middle of it, you're doomed.
So for now my tip is that, check if it's not a ratio-related issue, if you're still positive, then you can just call youself the unluckiest torrenter alive.
DMCA takedowns happen on a daily basis, the website is legally required to delete torrents as long as the complainer proves they own the rights to said material, there's nothing that anyone can do about it. But the good news is someone will always re-up a nuked torrent. It might go down shortly after, sure, but still. Just keep an eye on his name in the search page and eventually you'll find the same torrent and maybe this time you'll have more luck.

@ianfontinell It's happening more often. I didn't say it was common. Maybe the odds are that it's the torrents I chose to download.
My ratio is above 1.0.
I still have the torrent in my list and it's been stuck there at the position for over a day now, and is listed as "Finding Peers". I started the download a couple of hours after it was listed. and it stopped. I looked back in the listings and the torrent had disappeared. This is what I'm saying is going on more often it seems. It's a bit difficult to find out the name of the of the guy when the bloody torrent has disappeared from the list.
There is one guy who I have noticed adds in his description "**I will be deleting this torrent very soon unless we have members here with an ounce of appreciation", followed by a load of abuse. I avoid his torrents totally.

@nancledra53 Very interesting, thanks for the clarification. This kind of bonus point farming really needs to be brought to attention of the site administrators, these member who delete their contributions if they don't get bonus points in return must be blocked from uploading altogether.

We are not all in locations where high speeds are available. I am not in a country where super fast broadband is available. Sometimes I think people in some locations are very ignorant of these facts and may I say, don't realise that this is the World Wide Web: Not the the United States Wide Web. (I'm not saying it's you John3213666 - but there are many who think it is just for the USA).

@nancledra53 meaning it's me, the only other commenter lmao
